Paranormal Activity' is based around a couple living in their house who are being haunted by a poltergeist so decide to record the events unfolding in front of them.
Despite the hype the film received in.the cinemas, it isnt the best film at home due to the atmosphere of the cinema being lost. The story has been done before, the characters are typical of this genre and the sections in between each main event break the tempo of the film. Overall, the film was made for cinema and doesn't suit the small screen although the ending gives your a very nasty surprise. If you have seen it in the cinema, don't bother watching it on DVD/ Blu-ray but if you havnt seen it, its worth a watch on a dark friday night.
What's great about it: Good for few scares
What's not so great: Not the same Cinema Experience
New moon is fantastic and is so much better than Twilight (though I do love Twilight) the effects are amazing and the acting has improved a great deal. The only downside is that I missed seeing the Cullen family in this one and though that cant be helped as thats the way the book was written. The Twi-saga is like marmite..you either love it or hate it. And I love it...for the Vampires and the romance and the good-looking guys. ;) New Moon is a great movie and well worth buying. Bring on Eclipse in June!!!
The Blu-ray presentation is whats key in this review... The image qaulity, sound and extras are all top notch and are perfect examples of the format and why it is better than DVD... If you have the option buy the movie on Blu-ray and you won't be dissapointed...as for the film it really does depend on your tatse...
What's great about it: Blu-ray presentation is Amazing
Still one of the best horror movies in my opinion. Good transfer to Blu-ray which slightly lacks in special features but the film itself is the selling point for me. A must have for any collection.
This movie was actually pretty good. And considering most movies these days are completely predictable, it was refreshing to watch a movie that actually surprised me with the ending.Almost more of a thriller than horror, Two thumbs up!
