Excellent - Pioneer Outdid Themselves on This
on September 21, 2016

I had a pioneer Elite PD-65 when it first came out and that is when I knew Elite was going to be a contender in the high end audiophile business. I've owned several Elite products since, along with Marantz, Krell, Bryston, you name it, all it get better quality sound and realism. When my house got stuck by lightening, it gave me the reason to upgrade to the new SC-LX501. Didn't really know what to expect, because this was the first Class D home receiver for Pioneer at this level. I have owned Class D amps for cars from Pioneer and great equipment.
My review... WOW... easy to setup, I love this one much more than Elite VSX-90, which was awesome, but using the system interface to adjust audio and speaker settings was not intuitive. The SC-LX501 is intuitive and the on screen display is sooooo much easier.
Sound, once you get the MACC dialed in correctly using either auto or manual, this SC-LX501 is magical. Great system and the blue tooth connection for the iPhone to play music is great. The only beef, if I have one is that using my IR for managing my system, its difficult to use the remote left and right arrow to determine where you are (which function), there is a lot of lag time when switching functions (dvd to net to bluetooth)... That's my only issue, otherwise, this is perfect. I couldn't be happier with my upgrade.

Perfect Cover for TabA 8"
on May 21, 2016

This fits perfectly, even better than Apples ipad covers for their ipads. There are two little magnet and snaps in the back of the cover that fits into the tablet. The tablet has small holes in the back where these snap in. What a perfect design, works perfectly and the cover protects the tablet all the way around. Dont get the knock, off, this one from samsung is perfect and works perfectly. Oh and the cover flap is magnetic so it stays closed when you close it.

Good Cover.... One little Hang Up

The cover is really great for the price. The stretch bands that hold the tablet in place are very strong and do the job intended. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because with the Samsung TabA 10" the stretch bands on the corners makes it difficult to use the volume button on the TabA. I know this a universal, so for the price fantastic... if the universal could in fact be universal, I would give it 5 out of 5.

Great Tablet for the price

It was down to this or the ACER $99 tablet. I didn't like the look and feel of the ACER and this was on sale for $69 more... well worth the purchase. Seems Samsung has gotten better with their tablets, operates smoothly, no freeze, the addition of the increased memory card really helps too.

what is HDTV compatability mean as a comparison item for receivers? how important is that?

comparing a denon avr 391 to a more expensive model notice that this feature is different in the higher model
probably got your answer since this is a old question... It refers to the HDMI switching and pass through of the unit. Not all units can upscale or pass through HD content. Some just the content and no audio, some both. HDMI 2.0 is the latest version and can pass through UHD content (4K)... technically all HDMI cables can pass 4K content. Its whether this unit can do the upscale of non HD or non-4k content.

Denon actual watts per channel?

Denon avr 991 advertised ad in Best Buy , proclaims 160w per channel. Denon web site states 125w per channel at 0.05%....????which is it?? Before I buy a $1000 unit, to replace my Bologne Sony unit. Is this Denon a good choice? Looking for Power & Pandora Internet streaming....
it depends on the speakers your driving. If 8ohms then the power rating drops, if 6 ohms the power rating will be higher and 4 ohms higher yet. The more efficient a speaker is at handling power, the stronger your amp will be in managing/handing those speakers.

as for internet radio/pandor... check out the Pioneer Elite SC-LX501... the same price and much better quality, build and greater functionality and can be upgraded with future firmware updates for wireless speaker technology. On screen display and control of the unit is fantastic and if you use the auto MACC to configure your speakers, you won't be disappointed in the quality of magic this brings to your speakers.

How do I connect an iPod to old speakers?

Looking for a device that will allow me to play all my digital music from an iPod to a pair of great old bose speakers that are wired for an receiver (exposed copper that inserted in to the back of a receiver).

Thoughts?
get a 3.5mm jack to RCA outs, then connect the RCAs to the back of your receiver. I've done this with my laptop and other electronic media that has music and plugged it into the back of the Bose lifestyle 48. enjoy.
