The third season of HBO's Game of Thrones (based on the novels of George R.R. Martin) continues to follow the War of the Five Kings on its deadly path as Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) licks his wounds after a humiliating defeat and Robb Stark (Richard Madden) pushes for a risky offensive against the Lannisters. Meanwhile, Joffrey plans to marry Margaery (Natalie Dormer), Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) works to liberate a city whose economy is built on slavery, and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) finds his undercover mission complicated when he falls in love with a woman from the tribe living beyond the wall.
While I also love the show, the blu ray for season three is worth the cost. Best Buy frequently has movie sales and this I bought in one of their sale days. The menus are interactive, picture and sound are fantastic as you would expect from blu ray. The extras leave a little to be desired but this doesn't diminish the overall quality. Worth it!

I bought this tv after painstakingly looking through all the reviews of affordable led tvs. The sound is clear and surprisingly good for tv speakers (I did opt to buy a sound bar later). The picture is very sharp and clear with adjustable settings. I've had no issues at all! Great buy!
A great monster movie that makes you feel bad for the monster. An experiment gone wrong leaves a scientist horribly changed forever. A tragic end and wonderful subtlety makes this a great film for any horror fan.
This album had more folk and country elements than Hurry and the Harm. With the signature sound of Dallas Green's voice, this album doesn't disappoint.
In a similar style as Ultraviolence, Hineymoon has all the heartbreak and anger you'd expect and appreciate from Lana. With eerie and echoing melodies, Honeymoon is another great addition for any Lana fan.
The tension and sense of impending doom saturate this beautifully scenic film. I often found myself not breathing throughout this movie and the suspense is perfectly paced.
Tom Cruise is amazing as the hapless, confused, and witty Major who stumbles into the position to change the course of a war against a ferocious alien species.
He repeats the same day on end until he discovers how to stop the enemy with the help of a super-soldier played by Emily Blunt. Funny, action-packed, clever, Live Die Repeat is highly recommended.
Ok so Last House in the Left is a decent remake. Not a movie you could watch over and over again, but it's classic revenge and extremely dark if you're looking for shock. The original Wes Craven feature is actually more intense even today.
The Strangers is standard home-invasion, but different than others. You don't get to know the intruders or even see their faces, and when asked "why us" they simply reply "you were home". The couple's back story is generic but how they act in the crisis of the attack is interesting and atypical of this genre. They make mistakes but the PAY for them. The intruders are absolutely fantastic and creepy and we really don't know much about motive, which is unsettling as it could happen to anyone.
A Perfect Getaway is a fun movie to watch. Do not bother with the extended version. It spends way too much time in the plot twist so much so that I got a little bored. The twist is awesome but explaining it too much took away from the pace of the movie. The theatrical version is much better paced and just as suspenseful. Steve Zahn and Timothy Olyphant make the movie really. But there's a bit part for Chris Hemsworth who looks like he was in pre-training for Thor or just in love with the gym.
Shot in the found footage format, this film builds suspense slowly but with intensity. Little by little you see the break down of a mission to moon Europa. The acting is great and is reminiscent of Lake Mungo.
If you liked Sunshine (Danny Boyle) then you will most likely enjoy this movie.
The blu-ray has a behind the scenes that explores creating the images for the movie, interviewing the cast, and the making of Bear Mccreary's awesome soundtrack.
