Having used a few solid-state drives within past few years since it came out, I have never had one as large as 500 gigabytes. When this 1 terabyte model went on sale, I thought I would give it a try just for the sake of having extra space.
It was typically easy to install it just like other similar hard drives out there. You would actually have to know what you are doing a bit to do this because the drive doesn't come with any software to transfer what you had on your drive C to this particular drive (unless you want to install a new copy of Windows on this drive and go through the hassle of installing everything else on it later.)
There was a web address that took me to Samsung website, and it provided me with a very efficient and free software to "move" the operating system/data to this new drive. It took only about half an hour to transfer my 240 gigabytes hard drive to this one terabyte and it has been working fine ever since.
The price has gone down even more and I am thinking about upgrading my other desktop and laptop with this model or a similar one.
I know M.2 drives are a lot faster, but they are not still not cheap at this time (2018) - at least not for this size.
Thank you Best Buy for discounting this particular piece of hardware to an affordable price for many of us.

We were using a wireless expander and from time to time, the signal dropped. I don't think I could have blamed the previous product (also made by Netgear) because we were so far away from the router/transmitter, behind two walls through the bathroom. It simply shouldn't have worked, but it did. We have 100 megabits cable Internet here and I was getting about 20, to 40 with that. I don't think I minded the speed but if it had been an airplane, it would've been grounded.
I then looked into getting 100 feet cable and I was going to crawl under the house to install it. But when I looked under the floor, it spooked me because there wasn't that much room to maneuver and I was afraid I was going to be reported as a missing person if I were stuck down there. Furthermore, routing a cable throughout the house wasn't a feasible option.
I took a gamble on this rather new technology and I am so happy with it. The signal hasn't dropped at all since we install it over a week ago. The instructions were easy and Netgear provides the software which was easily accessed through a local "website" – the quick set up could have easily have been done by someone inexperienced, but it has the detail settings that I was able to change without any problem.
We get about 45 to 50 megabits with this.
The receiver gets quite warm and I put a little fan next to it. I don't think it affects the performance if it overheats.
When I tried to price match this product that afternoon it was not honored (because it was not sold directly by Amazon.com), However, the Best Buy associate was more than happy to do this and she took the time looking at other websites. She stepped out of the cashier station and cheerfully spent the time with me. The clerk on the floor originally showed me the location of this item when I arrived. Thanks, Best Buy Pacoima, CA!

I do not like in ear headset. This Sony headset is very comfortable to wear when I go for walk. It is not heavy – but it is not too light either (I don't want it to be too light)
The earpiece are very soft – and after an hour of walking, it is still comfortable. But those that sweat a lot – just wipe it dry after you use it.
It can be folded so it save a little space when you store it.
I don't understand why other models (not necessarily Sony) cost so much more. This would do.

I use mine with Dragon NaturallySpeaking/Dragon Medical voice dictation program. I started out using a headset, and graduated to a handheld Philip SpeechMike microphone (which is much more expensive than this) but a desktop microphone is very convenient. It leaves my hands free.
Logitech makes a USB desktop microphone but it is nothing like this. The microphone itself is slender and I was afraid is going to poke my eye out. Blue Snowball looks like something from a UFO (it reminds me of the show Space 1999). I don't plan to move it around because it is connected to my desktop. The price is reasonable for what I use it for.
For voice dictation, make sure the setting is set to 1. With this setting, it only listens to the front (of it)
The microphone is positioned about a foot away from me and it can hear me clearly.

I have seen this years ago, and when this Blu-ray version of this movie came out, I never got around to buying one until it was on sale in the five dollar bin at Best Buy Sherman Oaks. It is a nice addition to my Blu-ray collection, which includes high end Criterion Collection, etc. It is a well acted movie but could be heavy at times to watch due to the subject matter.

This is a good sci-fi – terrific acting, good script, and very good set. The CGI looks terrific and is not overdone. I felt the pain, and joy of the two main characters as they went through. It is a story of a low-level mechanic woke up on an interstellar trip by accident. He cannot put himself back to sleep and the trip would outlast his life. What to do – what to do.
This looks terrific on Blu-ray on my 75 inch 4K HDR monitor. I'm sure when the 4K version comes out, it would look better but I am totally satisfied with this.

Didn't see this in theater, but I have always wanted a Blu-ray copy of it because I have a 75 inch 4K HDR television at home. I might have been happier with a 4K version of it (but there isn't one yet) – so this will do and I am not disappointed at all. I enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and the acting. This is far beyond episode one, two, and three. Don't want to give away the ending of the movie, if you have not seen it, you will surely like it.

I needed an extension cord to extend the space from the desktop computer to the speakers and this will nicely do. I was going to get it through eBay but was able to find this at a local Best Buy (in Sherman Oaks). There isn't much to say about a simple cable like this but it is well-made and comes in a nice package.

Why is it so hard to buy just an extra PowerLINE WiFi 1000 Access Point (PLW1000)? I already have an existing Pl1000 pair and just want to add adapters. Netgear makes it seem like I can but in reality, they want you to buy A PAIR each time!

It works perfectly fine, and Netflix stream works well too. It is an HD, full resolution high definition monitor which of course you will need the separate speakers for it.

Will this work for movie rendering. Will this work in an Alienware Area 51 x58 R2 desktop? I am wondering if this is the best for movie rendering.
This drive is really is not made to run very quickly. What I mean is compared to years ago, it is a fast hard drive, but I bought mine to save data only (I backup my DVD and Blu-ray movies to use with a multimedia server at home on this this.) So if you want to use this drive to save the data, it will work fine – but if it is a working drive, for the program to read and write a lot of temporary files to it, it may not be the best.
A suggestion that I do for myself is I use a solid-state drive for drive C and my computer (Intel i7 with 32 gigabytes of memory, Quadro workstation card running Windows 10) runs very quickly.

Playing 4K Discs
The specifications tab states max video output at 1080p. Does this actually output 4k discs as 2160p? This is either an error on the specs tab or super confusing.
This generation of upscale 4K player will make your Blu-ray movies look very good at "near 4K". It is not actually display true 4K – that is the next-generation players which will be coming out in a few months, assuming at a premium price.
I was playing Harry Potter blu ray the other day, and it froze the scene, and I stood about a foot away from the TV (65 inch 4K that I bought from Cosco), and it simply looked amazing. Keep in mind that there are no real 4K Blu-ray movies available now and when they come out, it will not play on this machine. Those "4K Blu-ray" movies that you see are mastered from 4K source.

It does not upscale a blu ray movie to true 4K. It upscaled to "near" 4K.

What Region Blu Ray Format Will This Play?
Will this particular unit play Region Free disc?
If the disk is region free or "all regions", any Blu-ray player will play it.
I have an all regions Blu-ray disc (shipped from England), and it plays fine.

does the BD-H6500 support 7.1 surround>
Yes it does – it does have the outputs on the back of the player. Although I connected mine via a digtal optical cable (5.1) to a sound bar.
