Picked up this wireless phone charger for my iPhone 8. It states on the box it works with the IPhone 8 and X. It does charge the phone, however, if it not exactly on the center of the charger it will not charge. I’m not sure if this is how all wireless chargers work and with this being my first one I may not be aware of that. But with the charger on the counter and the phone centered. Something either bumped the counter or pulled the charging pad cord which cause the phone to move less than a 1/4 inch and next morning my phone was not charged.

My wife added this to her phone. Does its job to protecting the outside of the the phone then with an added glass screen protector should do the job just fine. Does not seem to scratch easy however there was a small gouge taken out of the back of ours. Not sure if it came that way or if something cut it. But none the less it does its job.

The dot connects right to your WiFi. You will have to download the Alexa app on your phone, but I’m sure you could use a computer as well. Once it is connected to the WiFi it is basically a stand alone unit and you shouldn’t have to use your phone unless you are trying to set up routines with the dot.

Will this charge an iPhone 8 with the case still on the phone or will the case have to be removed ?
It does with a thin rubber case. Not sure how it would with a lifeproof or otterbox. However, with the thin case the phone had to be set exactly in the center for it to charge. Something bumped the cord at night causing the phone to slide 1/4 from center and it stopped charging.
