Worthy update to the original

In my review for the original Persona 4 Arena, I stated that I got the game because I'm a fan of the Persona games. I got Ultimax for the same reason (just to complete the story and my Persona 4 "collection"), but it doesn't mean it's one heck of an enjoyable fighting game. Great animation and memorable characters and presentation, it's a game for Persona fans and fighting game fans alike. I'm not sure if paying an additional $60+ for it is worth it if you have the original, but worth a look. And I got the first batch of orders that included the tarot cards and Teddy bop bag.

Bringing the world of Persona into a 2D brawler

I'm generally not a fan of fighting games. But one of my favorite RPG series is the Persona games. So naturally I'd want to at least check the game out. It's an enjoyable fighting game, easy to pick up and play. It does continue where the Persona 4 left off, so if you're a hardcore Persona fan, it's worth getting for that alone.

I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game. So playing Hyrule Warriors for the first time was a bit jarring at first. I couldn't quite understand the play mechanics until after the first scenario. However once I understood the game, it became incredibly addictive and enjoyable. It's total Zelda fanservice with some flashy (but not spectacular) graphics and exaggerated special moves. It's worth a play by all Zelda fans - just don't expect anything close to being a traditional Zelda game. It's a Dynasty Warriors game with Zelda clothing, rather than a Zelda game with Dynasty Warriors elements.
Not a masterpiece by any means, but it's pure fun and adds to the already diverse library of games the Wii U has to offer.

Great portable version of SSMB

Having played SSMB since the N64 original, I was excited to finally see a portable rendition in the series. It plays fast, with tons of content replayability. The downside is that even with a 3DS XL, the action can get so intense and chaotic it can be too easy to lose sight of your fighter. Also, it would've been nice to have an option to play with the D-pad as the Circle Pad isn't the most responsive at times. Nevertheless, there's nothing quite like a portable Smash. I can't wait for the Wii U version in November.
