This album is exactly what you'd expect from Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and the opening track, "Any Weather," is well-placed as the best of the bunch. Crunchy guitar riffs and great hooks abound, and if you can get past the lackluster chorus of "TMI," and the repetitive "Different," the other lyrics aren't half bad. Jett hasn't quite lost her youthful outlook; many of these songs could have been on a Runaways album. Some relate to those currently living through teen angst, and some to old farts like me with perspective and social consciousness. Live cuts of old favorites are an added bonus.
I'm a long time Bowie fan, I'd been anticipating this album, and now I'm grateful for the farewell messages it contains. Blackstar is an explosion of musical ideas, as if Bowie was rushing to create as fast as he could, and the price is right for the seven tracks. Buy this album before the record companies start cashing in on rough demos and more greatest hits packages.
I can't imagine how listeners would have responded when this album was released, but I know it stands the test of time. A must have for anyone interested in the roots of classic rock and metal.

To quote my six-year-old daughter,"I love them!" I'm not sure the packaging has the cartoons listed properly, but it didn't matter, because we sat and watched them for hours. Probably not very healthy, but it made for a wonderfully lazy Saturday morning. Some were very experimental, and way ahead of their time.
My daughter talked me into buying this, and even offered to pay with her own money. It is a welcome addition to her Christmas music collection. Lots of songs and a great value.
I consider myself somewhat of a musicologist, and I'm always looking for music to fill out my collection. At this point, I could start my own radio station, and never hear the same song twice in a year. I bought this CD because my mother had a 45 of "Hanky Panky" that I wore out as a child, but I had forgotten how many hit songs that Tommy James and the Shondells actually produced. And they're not just pop hits, they are quality songs with great lyrics and great music that have been covered by many other musicians who recognized their impact. This is truly a "Best of..." collection with very few clunkers, if any.
Enemies will fall at the wave of your hand. Goals will be grasped with the reach of your arm. Sports tournaments will be won by the twist of your wrist. Your gaming destiny is clear when you're armed with the Wii Remote Plus controller. Hyper-sensitive to recognize your slightest movements, the Remote Plus eliminates buttons and joysticks and replaces them with the natural, fluid gestures of your body.A controller has never been so simple to use. Integrated MotionPlus technology intuitively recognizes every swing, twist, swish and blow and reproduces it on the screen with unbelievable accuracy, taking your mind off the buttons and into the battle, tournament or race. When your controller no longer controls you, the reins are yours to take — steer your way to success.
I don't know why the blue Wii remote wasn't as popular as the other colors, but for some reason they decided to stop making them and put them on sale. It works just as well, so our kids are just as happy.
Though she's never seen the film, my daughter is obsessed with Ariel as most five-year-olds girls are. That being said, I don't think she's listened to this more than once. It didn't catch her interest, and she said it was a little bit scary.
Haven't seen the film but recommend the soundtrack. It has a nice mix of contemporary and traditional music, and introduced me to a few tracks that I hadn't heard before.
