I bought this voice recorder so I could record business meetings and workshops and later transcribe note. I works great. The voices are very clear and it even records in stereo. Total recording time and battery life are excellent. The software for your PC loads when you plug the device into your USB port. The software makes it easy to transfer the recordings to you PC and play them back, I especially like the 3 second skip forward or backward buttons.

Record up to 1,073 hours of audio with this Sony ICDUX533BLK digital voice recorder, which features voice-activated recording and a stereo S-microphone system for clear, easy audio capture. The rechargeable battery allows extended use between charges.
Specifications for this model says built in rechargeable battery and then it also states battery AAA. My question is, does it have both options?
Regarding Model Sony ICD UX 533 BLK voice recorder. So, in addition to my question here, one can also opt to use the AAA battery instead?
No recharging. Only replaceable batteries.

The PC software has a bar to move the time backward or forward. It also has a 3 second jump button for backward or forward.

Once you turn on the record feature, will it stay on until you turn it off, or will it shut itself off if there is no sound?
We want to record the pastor's Sunday homily and have the recorder stay on if we turn it on at the beginning of Mass.
The recorder automatically shuts off after a period of time with no sound. I am not certain of the length of time though.

Compatible with 7 64 bit?
Is this recorder compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. I have an older model I love but now with my new computer the recorder is not recognized by my 64 bit computer. If this model is not compatible can you list the ones that are? Thanks
I an running this recorder on both a Windows 7 64 bit PC and a Windows 8 64 bit PC with no problems.

Supplied items-included
The only items in the box were the voice recorder and 2 batteries. Are there supposed to be other supplied items that come with this voice recorder?
No. That is all I received and all that I needed. The PC software will load when you attache the device to your PC. You will need to be connected to the Internet to get the latest version of the program.
