This is an update to one I was replacing. Minor changes but great improvement. The filter can now be rinsed and the design is somehow more ergonomic and appears easier to manipulate.

If I had the choice again would get this sound-bar. Used in a bedroom and is very nice. The Bluetooth was a nice feature add on but turned out to be a great thing to have. Ideal for anyone that just plain wants better sound then TV speakers and does not want a surround for a small area.

We do not have carpets only laminate how is this for sucking up cat hair?
I have a Maine Coon and hair is never a problem. Do suggest you clean it just to be safe after use.

Works great with any Bluetooth item that will pair with it. The hardware connection are RCA Plugs so if you can hardware connect it will work with anything it connects. A little more expensive bar would most probably give you more options a bit more sophisticated sound. For the money this excellent for a bedroom, etc

Is volume controlled by TV or by a separate remote?
I've read mixed reviews where some state the TV remote alone controls the volume and other state you need to have a separate remote to control the volume on the Insignia. Could it be a problem of improper connections for some users or are some TVs not quite compatible? Please clarify.
It may be in the way I set mine up but I have to use remote. Please remember my tv is not a smart tv. That may be my issue

Can I connect my bluetooth headset to the soundbar and listen to the tv sound through the headset?
Yes as long as your headset pairs with the sound bar. I use it a lot with mine and also with my iPhone.
