Got this to replace stock lens. Camera started giving me "Problem Communicating with Lens" issue on the stock lens, and even got a replacement used lens on auction a while back, but that one had the same issue. I thought maybe I'd try a new lens, thinking I can take it back if it's the camera. Sure enough, this lens looks awesome and the camera works fine with it. Let that be a lesson: your camera is only as good as your lens, and this lens is perfect close or far.

Perfectly good on window, but setting up ndiswrapper is a pain for this one, at least I had problems with the correct drivers/settings for it. So, minus 1 star for that. Find something with broadcom chipset if using on linux.

Still a little confused, do i have the right idea?
Apparently this usb is used so that a user can plug in to their desktop computer in a separate area of their modem and router, that doesn't have WiFi adapter, giving it a WiFi adapter?
Also my router isn't a netgear, is that fine?

You plug this into any computer that does not have wireless capabilities, to give it wireless capabilities.
Since it uses standards-based 802.11a/b/g/n communication protocols, it will work with any other wireless router (non-netgear) that supports 802.11a/b/g/n.
