An excellent quality HDR 4k disk but a rather boring film made acceptable by Tom Cruise's appearance. I would not recommend buying the 4k disk. I would recommend renting this film and, should you enjoy it, upscale the normal blu-ray ray disk.

Good TV Poor interface with K8500 4k blu-ray playe

A set worth considering if you're looking for a 4k TV but good luck finding one. It has been discontinued by LG.
With the lone exception of the OLED models from LG, you'don't be hard pressed to find a better 4k TV. It's picture is excellent as is the remote and app offerings from LG. The only criticisms I have of this TV is visual viewing area could be better and the picture in a bright room needs improvement.
An added benefit, only offered by LG at this time, is Dolly Vision. Both Netflix and Amazon's streaming 4k programing are broadcast in Dolby Vision and 4k disks will soon be available in Dolby Vision. Since Dolby Vision is a second 4k format, it's an added benefit to have it.
Here's the downside, the Samsung k8500 blu-ray player doesn't interact well with an LG set. It will automatically disable some of your picture settings. It may also do this on other non Samsung 4k TVs.
I'd strongly recommend waiting for the Panasonic UB 900 or Philips first 4k player before you buy a 4k blu-ray player. The UB 900 will be available from Best Buy in September and has gotten remarkable reviews. The Phillips unit is due in stores in October.

Had an AC router before I purchased this one. When doing the WiFi setup for my 4k TV, my existing router was too slow. My new TV had 150 firmware updates out of the box.
I had to replace my router with NETGEAR. If I hadn't my TV would still be updating.
The NETGEAR router also let's me take full advantage of my high speed (50 megs) Internet download speed.

The pros-good, but not great 4k picture. Very easy to use.
Cons-average upscaling, actually my Panasonic upscaling blu ray player picture had far better picture. God awful remote, lots of Samsung apps but few worth downloading, cheap plastic construction, player's video settings only work on discs, can't modify picture settings on video streaming or on streaming 4k videos.

I'm an early adopter who's a perfect target for products like the k8500. However; after almost 30 years at a Senior management position managing a major CE brand, I should have known better. I have only myself to blame for this purchase.
What you and I should have done-wait for other players. For instance, the Panasonic UB900. It isn't available yet but it's less than a few months away.
Why wait-the UB900 has already received better reviews and comparisons against the Samsung K8500. It not only is compatible with the 2.2 decoder needed to play true 4k discs. It also contains the V9 decoder which is a far superior method of upscaling blu ray discs. It also will run every current audio option available today.
My review should not be considered a "pitch" for the Panasonic UB900. It should be viewed as an educated suggestion to wait before you buy a true 4k blu ray player. There are many far better units only months away.

The built in speakers are the most often criticized feature of this TV. Yes, it would be wise to purchase either a soundbar or surround sound system.

Is this a passive or an Active 3D TV? Also, is there any difference between this model and the same model in 60 & 65 inches?
It is passive 3D but excellent passive.

I have had this exact router for 6 years and now because of its age and other items connected I I cannot connect to my laptop . Does this system block others interfering and is there a password block system attached.
Your problem is most likely the fault of the download speed provided by your Internet Service Provider. Additionally, the more items you use within your home, the higher the download speed that is needed.
Either run a Speed Test on your WIFI download speed or check with your provider. If your running an HD TV plus computers and cellphones, you'll need about 20 megs download speed.
If you have a 4k TV, you'll need a minimum of 26 megs.
