This movie sounded interesting because I enjoy action/horror movies. I watched the movie in its entirety and was very disappointed. The story didn't make much sense and I kept waiting for it to improve but it never did. There was no character development and the plot never became interesting. It was a very boring movie.

The Blu-ray is definitely a step up in picture and sound quality from the DVD. This movie was a big hit when it was released in 1958 and I remember seeing it at the drive-in theater when I was 10 years old. I thought it was wonderful and it was my favorite movie at that time. The movie has it all, a handsome adventurer, a beautiful princess, a genie in the lamp, an evil magician, and lots of fantastic monsters by Ray Harryhausen. I watched the movie in its entirety when I received the Blu-ray and my opinion of the movie has not changed. It is still a fantastic adventure 58 years after its release.

Great Sinbad Adventure/Harryhausen special effects

The Blu-ray picture is an upgrade over the DVD but I didn't notice any difference in the sound quality. The story has Captain Sinbad, a beautiful mysterious woman, an evil wizard, and lots of Harryhausen special effects monsters. This is an entertaining movie but not quite as good as The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. This Blu-ray doesn't have scene selection capability which was a disappointment.

The picture & sound quality on this Blu-ray was an upgrade over the DVD. This action movie is set in the early 1900's in Mexico during the Mexican Revolution. Robert Mitchum plays a plane flying gun runner, Yul Brynner is Pancho Villa and Charles Bronson is Villa's second in command. Mitchum sells some guns to the Colorados but during the landing his airplane's wheel is damaged. He goes to a nearby town whose citizens are sympathetic to Pancho Villa. The Colorados attack the town and Villa and his men arrive a little bit late but drive the Colorados away. Villa finds out that the American Gun Runner has been selling guns to his enemies but before he is shot by Bronson, Villa finds out about the airplane and decides he can use it to his advantage. The actors all turn in fine performances and this movie is one of my favorite westerns, right up there with the Professionals and the Wild Bunch.

This Blu-ray movie has excellent picture and sound quality. It stars John Wayne and Robert Mitchum and starts out with the great ballad song of El Dorado. Wayne is a gunfighter with a conscience and Mitchum is a sheriff. The movie co-stars a young James Caan and is full of great western action. Wayne and Mitchum turn in good acting performances so don't miss this one.

The Blu-ray picture & sound quality is excellent. You can't go wrong with this movie which stars John Wayne & Kirk Douglas. John Wayne plays a man who had his land stolen and was then sent to prison. His land just happened to have a lot of gold on it. The gold is transported by the War Wagon, an armored stagecoach with a gatling gun. When Wayne gets out of prison he has a plan to steal the gold but first he has to round up four men to help him steal it. The action is fast and furious but the movie is fun and has some comedy moments. I highly recommend it.

The picture and sound quality of the Blu-ray was excellent. The movie is very fast paced and entertaining. Tarzan is John Clayton, an English nobleman who has learned to speak English fluently and is civilized. His wife is Jane who is an American. They are living at their estate in England when Tarzan is invited to visit the Congo by the King of Belgium. The invitation is a trap set by Leon Rom to get Tarzan to Africa so Rom can capture him and turn him over to a tribal Chief whose only son had been killed by Tarzan. In return for his capture Rom will be given the Jewels of Opar which will allow the King of Belgium to pay off the debts he owes for trying to colonialize the Congo. Tarzan and Jane are accompanied to Africa by an American Agent played by Samuel L. Jackson. The special effects are fantastic as Tarzan and his friends fight for their freedom from Rom and Belgium.

The movie has great sound and picture quality on blu ray. There are lots of good mutants and bad mutants and of course Professor Xavier and Magneto. There is even a brief appearance by Wolverine. We get to see The early Phoenix, Cyclops, Havoc, The Beast, Nightcrawler, Storm and the Angel. If you like mutants this movie is for you. The story starts in Cairo, Egypt in 3600 B.C.E. where we see Apocalypse, a god-like ruler who we later learn is the first Mutant on this planet. When Apocalypse escapes from his tomb in the modern era he wants to rule the world. He goes looking for some mutants to be his bodyguard and help him in his quest to rule. This runs counter to Professor X and the mutants in his school for gifted children. The action during the entire movie is fast and furious and the movie is very entertaining. If you like Marvel Comics and The X-Men this movie is for you.

The picture quality and sound of this blu ray was excellent. The story is a historical piece about Jesse Owens, an African-American, who went to the 1936 Olympics and showed up Hitler and his master race. The story starts with Jessie going off to The Ohio State University to run track. The main characters are Jessie, his girlfriend, and his coach at Ohio State. I thought the acting was excellent and the story was great because it was based on what actually occurred in history. Don't miss this one.

I was really looking forward to seeing this movie based on the previews but after viewing it on blu ray I was disappointed. I had trouble following the storyline and who the characters were. There were several things that happened in the movie that I never did figure out. The ending was one of them. This could have been a great movie if the storyline could be understood and followed and if there was better character development. That all said, the special effects were excellent and there was lots of action. However, this is not even close to the quality of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
