Player makes a noise, but

It takes awhile for the movie to load, and it does make a loud-ish sound will loading. However, blu-ray player does work for your PC, and what I would do is search for better software to play your player with. The playback software that comes with the player is awful, and nothing but an advertisement for "premium playback" software. But, with the right playback software, the player is cool.
