With a good overall concept, the film didn't go in the direction it should have. I believe the filmmakers realized this, and have made up for it in the sequel.

Right off the bat, let me say that Roger Moore is not my favorite James Bond. Not by a long shot. But, his first appearance in this film, in my opinion, is his best. Great location and a decent story made this film a good entry in this long running franchise.

I really like Timothy Dalton's interpretation of James Bond. I've read many of the novels, and it isn't hard for me to put Dalton's "face" to the character. I like that this film didn't rely on gadgets, one liners and an over the top villain.

I really liked director Darren Aronofsky's mythological extension of this Biblical tale. Great performances by Russell Crowe, Ray Winstone and Jennifer Connelly, who becomes more lovely in her ongoing career. Beautiful cinematography.

A man takes his family on a vacation to Disney World, which turns into a surreal nightmare. Shot gonzo style, it's unbelievable that this film got made AND released without interference from the Disney corporation. Funny, scary, and sometimes a little creepy too! Not for the whole family, but if your in the mood for something definitely different, check it out.

This live action movie adaptation of the anime series (known in the U.S. as "Star Blazers") is a something fans have been waiting for. And it pretty much delivers, even though the story condensed into a couple of hours. The cast does a great job bringing these characters to life, and the special effects work is grand. If your a fan of the anime, this is a must have.
