we love this tv. even my husband who doesn't so much care. he didn't think he wanted a larger screen, but he loves it. it is so sharp and clear and it's all so simple. i was afraid i wouldn't be able to figure out how to use all the internet stuff, etc. but with my son showing me for about 5 minutes - i am enjoying netflix, you tube, 500px, and all sorts of things. and that doesn't even count the 3D - LOVE that. and that has turned out to be super simple as well. couldn't be any happier. downton abbey was gorgeous on this. you could see every fiber in their clothing and wall paper and colors - gorgeous.
Roger Spottiswoode directs Tom Hanks and a dog in the comedy Turner & Hooch, which comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are neither subtitles nor closed-captions on this release. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, marking this is a sub-par release from Disney/Buena Vista.

This is an old movie I had not seen for a long time. I really enjoyed watching it again. Fun to see Tom Hanks so young and Mare Winningham was good in her part, as a vet and romantic interest. Of course the real star of the movie is the dog who plays 'Hooch'. Lots of laughs and some pathos. A movie well worth re-visiting
This release contains the debut season of the British drama Call the Midwife, which follows the trials and tribulations of midwives who see firsthand the troubles of pregnant women in the 1950s.

This has been shown on my PBS station. I kept hearing about it and started watching it. After watching it, I knew I wanted to watch it over and show it to other family members, so I will be buying each series as it comes out on dvd. The series came from books written by a midwife in London during the 50's, so some plots and characters are from her memoirs. The writing is so outstanding, I can't praise it enough. It is touching and moving without being maudlin or manipulative. The casting is brilliant and contains one of my favorite characters ever - the nurse, 'Chummy'. It is even more popular in Britain than Downton Abbey.
