This gritty crime drama follows Detective Vic Mackey (Michael Chiklis) as he leads a group of detectives known as the Strike Team throughout the crime ridden streets of California. Though is goal of stopping crime at its source is admirable, his methods are anything but on the straight and narrow, and become increasingly corrupt as time goes on. Romantic relationships are equally difficult to navigate; Mackey's marriage falters due to several indiscretions, as well as the stress of paying for the education of a special needs child. Fellow Strike Team member Shane Vendrell's (Walton Goggins) marriage is equally rocky, and motivates Shane to pursuing a course of actions that would shake the team to its very core.
THE SHIELD blazed new ground with its saga of a bent cop trying to live up to his own code on the streets. Michael Chiklis is brilliant as the driven and tormented detective trapped in a web of his own making. He is supported by a superb ensemble of actors. They dialed this show up to an 11 for intensity. It is a must-see.
Desperate to rid the Miramar Playa Hotel of Ben Diamond (Danny Huston), proprietor Ike Evans (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) attracts the attention of a Chicago crime boss (James Caan). Elsewhere, Ike's relationship with his two sons continues to deteriorate.
This second and final season of Magic City picks up where the first left off. Once again, the designers of the show do a brilliant job recreating 1959 Miami. The acting is excellent and the plot compelling as our hero attempts to keep his hotel from the clutches of the mob - but at what price?

This show does an excellent job of recreating Miami in 1959. The sets and cars are incredible. The acting is excellent, with Danny Huston a standout as an evil mob boss.
