I originally thought that I was use the camera for a back up and for video (4K ability) which works great. It has lots of user control. To be able to change for your shooting preferences. I discovered that I am really impressed with the focus stacking in macro mode. If you want a durable grab-and-go camera this would be a good choice.

On the downside, the problem I have is not being able to choose the shutter speed manually or a full manual mode.

Can an additional microphone be attached?

Not one that would have to be plugged in. The TG-Tracker is sealed unit except when you open the battery compartment. Which also accesses the memory card, USB micro plug in and the HDMI plug in. To attach a separate mike it would have to be wi-fi. I don't think that is possible at this time. That sounds like something to talk to Olympus about.
