Printer does everything it says. I didn't thing that the email feature would be used, but I ended up using it the most. Scans and prints photos impressively.

can you add text to photo's?
Yes, from just the printer. There are several apps you can get on the printer for all sorts of cool things.

Can it do an index sheet?
Can the 6520 print an index sheet so I can easily refer to it to see what pictures I have on a memory card?
You can plug your memory card directly into it and see whats on it on the screen on the printer. It can print the multiple images on a 4x6.

Is it compatible with macbook air?
The macbook air doesn't not have a cd drive so would I be able to configure it without setting it up via cd?
Yes, I use it with my Mac Pro desk top.

When scanning is it able to enlarge materials scanned?
Yes it can and it can also rotate the image and make fit.

Efax
I have registered and received an efax number but I keep getting an error message saying efax cannot send because my email is not registered, but it is?
Must make an email address for the printer itself and register it at the hp photosmart web site.

how to install ink cartridges? Illustration?
Cartidges do not want to fit (new machine, your accompanying ink ). Illustration? Nothing in manual. What should the cartridge carrier/holder look like and where???
Lift up both lid layers on top and if it is on the ink carrier will slide over to the center where it can be easily accessed. Use the proper ink cartridge's 564/564xl. The color shapes will identify where you need to insert them. You will also have to twist off or break off the plastic piece covering the ink hole.
