Not a problem, though I can read and write Spanish I wanted the English version. A USB 3.0 thumb drive comes in the box with a product key card. What you really pay for is the product key here.
Instead of returning the item to the store (where I'm sure they would have exchanged it for English), I went to the Microsoft website and downloaded the Multi-language version of Windows 10 and used their "create boot-able usb" app to install Windows 10 on my new machine. The product key will work for ANY language. Why MS doesn't just sell the Multi-language package in the box is beyond me. Not Best buy's fault.

What can I say about Thermal paste? It was inexpensive and helped my CPU cooler do it's job. A little goes a long way. I used a dot the size of a pea and installed the cooler. My Cool Master Hyper 212 evo keeps my AMD 7400k running at 3.5GHz and a steady 50c.

Yes it will "work" but use the WD "Purple" grade for best multi-camera DVR system

It will work but a better recommendation would be a WD "Purple" series drive like this one:

Will a normal 2012 HP desktop have connectors already available. Or will additional cables be needed. I know I have several power connectors loose but what about data?

Yes, any Computer using a SATA connector will work. You can do a fresh install of your OS or clone the old drive to this one (assuming you are using 120GB or less of it) using apps available free online.
The size is only 2.5 inch so if you;re replacing a 3.5inch HDD you may need a holder/adapter to screw it into the bay. Like this:

I just used some 2 sided tape to secure it in the case since the tower doesn't go anywhere. Hope this helps.

Would it be compatible with my Asus laptop?
How would I know if I could use this to replace my HD in my ASUS Q551LN? I already upgraded my Ram and getting an SSD drive was my next project.
Yes BUT it's only 120GB, more than enough for your operating system and apps but you're losing A LOT of storage. Consider a larger size (storage not physical) or using an external storage solution if you want to use this drive. They do make 240gb and 480gb models too for only a few bucks more.
