This animated motion picture surpassed my expectations. To me, it contained far more more suspense than the HB Scooby-Doo cartoons of yesteryear. There were, in comparison to the Saturday morning shows of the 60s and 70s, notably fewer plot holes. The only downside is that the vocal contributions for Shaggy from the now departed Casey Kasem were missing.
For Kiss, Scooby-Doo! & Kiss: Rock & Roll Mystery could only reintroduce the band to generations of music fans. The more serious side to their image has not been sacrificed. Despite the occasional humor intermingled between them and the Mystery Machine Gang, there is no apparent risk of family friendly marketing gone wild as had once been done some thirty-five plus years ago. Kiss, after all, is about the music.
In other words, Scooby-Doo and his pals can resume doing what they do best, and so can KISS!
