A powerhouse of a computer!

This is a fantastic desktop pc that I can only describe as entry-level high-end. Yes. This pc punches far above it's weight. The RTX4070 SUPER gives games a phenomenal framerate at 1440p and can give you a solid 60fps at 4k on MOST titles. Some hardware hogs (Cyberpunk 2077 for example) need a lot of processing tricks to achieve a decent framerate. Thankfully, the 4070 SUPER does an amazing job with Nvidia's frame generation and DLSS upconverting. Aside from the stellar graphics processor, this PC also amazes with its clean look. Cable management simplicity give it the look of caring professional design, and not the cheap hack-job of some of the cheaper brands on the market.
Runs very quiet. I'm sitting less than 15" from the tower, at ear level, and I hear the slightest of hums. RGB lighting is everywhere. Inside, outside... it is colorful!
Now for the "cons"... The supplied mouse and keyboard are a courtesy. I strongly recommend upgrading to a proper gaming keyboard and mouse. Neither will last long if you are a passionate Call of Duty or Fortnite player.

This is a good setup for those needing a mobile laptop computer for coffee-shop or school use. It's very compact, and features a pretty decent gpu that will handle most games at 1080p with a steady 60fps. Where it really shines for me is the OLED screen. It's just gorgeous! Games like the new Avatar game just look super vivid! It looks great for any content creating you might need to do as well. It really gives you a natural, rich color. I really hope OLED becomes the new normal for it's tough to beat. The Ultra processor is a beast. I was able to easily play Fortnite while letting the AI cores handle my chores in the background. While AI seemed to be the trendy word for CES2024, with the Ultra cpus it seems to at least have a noticeable benefit.
Biggest plus next to the screen quality is the temps. This laptop doesn't barbecue your lap under regular loads. After playing Avatar for an hour, it still managed to get quite warm, but still wasn't to the level of extra crispy that my old 3070 laptop reached.
Bloatware on this is fairly minimum. HP's suite of custom software is squarely in the middle of the pack as far as usability and customization. If you are already in the Omen ecosystem, there isn't any new surprises, and it works well enough. This is definitely a great laptop for college students. it will let them enjoy the latest games at a decent performance, watch the latest Marvel movie in vivid colors, and have more than enough room on the hard drive for their homework assignments. And did I mention the OLED screen? It's GORGEOUS!

Super fast SSD. Games & Content creators

Added this card to an empty PCIe slot in my desktop. Install took seconds and it was ready to go. Speeds for processing and rendering video for Youtube took very little time. Even clips with complex graphics and 3D rendering took a fraction of the usual time. Does not come with a heatsink, instead it's encased in a Sandisk cover that I'm guessing is supposed to help disperse heat. My first uses of it generated quite a bit of heat, but not enough to cause me to worry. If you are using it for long stretches, then it might be worth looking into ways of cooling the SSD. Adequate for gaming as well, though I didn't do much with it for that. Tried Ratchet and Clank (which uses the SSD for game effects) and didn't notice any slowdown or clipping. Worked fine. Mostly I'll use this card for photo and video rendering, and for both it works like a charm. 1TB is large enough for most 1080p projects and short 4K products, depending on the encoding one uses. Overall a solid product, as usual, from the gang at Sandisk.

I have two Apple pencils. A gen 1 and a gen 2. These work great. My gen 1 was almost worn out, and this brought new life to it so my daughter is happy she can resume doodling on her iPad Air. My gen 2 was in good shape, just a nick or two on the side, and this restored it to its former glory. Functionally I can’t tell a difference. If there is a difference in performance, it’s so slight as to be negligible or I’m not bourgeois enough to feel it. The color matches perfectly. Plastic quality seems identical. Where the difference is quite noticeable is the price. These are far more economical than the official replacement tips. Installation is simple. In a time where everything is skyrocketing in price and skimping on quality, it’s nice that Insignia can release product that performs as well as the official brands but at a more budget friendly price. Especially for parents with artistic kids who go through pencil tips quickly. A highly recommended product if you are in need of new pencil tips. A+

A printer without wifi or bluetooth in 2024!!!

First off, I didn't read the stats of the printer as closely as I should have. I assumed all printers these days, even the cheapest, have some form of networking. Even this printer's quickstart guide mentions network connecting. However, the quickstart is one sheet for a half dozen different printers. Once I got over that disappointment, I dug around my junk cables boxes for a usb-b printer cable (shocked I still have one!) and connected the printer to my desktop pc. Works as you'd expect a modest home business laser printer to work. Connects to windows, PC downloads the drivers, and it prints. Not a lot of bells and whistles due to the lack of network connection. Print quality is sharp, and the print settings available is definitely noteworthy. Feels like a quality product, however. Brother has always made decent home office products, and this is no exception. I would strongly recommend finding the model with the wifi/bluetooth/airplay built in over this bare bones model, just for simplicity of use. Otherwise it's a good printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a really good quality controller. The ability to customize the weight as well as the joysticks makes it really nice for a variety of games. The non-symmetric joysticks are great for anyone preferring the xbox style controller layout for their PS5. Works great for the pc too. The latency is really low, and the programmable buttons make it great for games from Street Fighter 6 to Baldur's Gate 3. Battery life is decent. I get 8 to 10 hours depending on the type of game. Really the only drawback is a Sony imposed ban on the rumble feedback on PS5 games. Works great on the PC side of things. It's a good size controller, and the case to keep everything together is fairly durable feeling. I can definitely see this lasting quite a while. I have a Xbox version of this controller I've had for a few years now and it's still in pristine condition, so I have high hopes for this as well. The plug-in microphone is a tad bit of an eyesore, but it works, and it doesn't really get in the way, so I cant complain too much. Overall, great "pro" controller.

The shower head I never knew I needed!

Smart shower. Seems almost silly for a concept, until you are an adult with the skyrocketing costs of utilities. My household was in need of a new shower head, and this opportunity to try a “smart shower” has been a fascinating view into our family’s waste of resources. After setup (which took a total of 10 minutes from opening the box to turning on water), Smart features such as gallons used, kWh used, and temperature are great as information to keep waste to a minimum. The alerts are great for showering, showing a green light when preferred temp is reached and a red light when water use was reached. Because of this, we are able to be more efficient with our showering, shaving, etc. less time is spent relaxing in the shower. The shower head is versatile with pressure variants ranging from a hammering rainstorm to a soft mist. Adjusting is done with a simple sliding button. The length of tubing for the shower head is decent, able to reach any body parts. The app gives all the relevant info in a simple display. This is a great product by a young company, and I look forward to their future products.

Easily the best entry level audiophile headphones.

These are excellent headphones for those that enjoy the musical experience and not just “background noise.” Listened to several lossless digital albums I have, including Michael Jackson’s “Bad” album (one of my all time reference albums) and the Px7s2e have a phenomenal midrange that is fluid, with tight bass and sharp highs. “Thiller” sounds crisp, with clear background effect sounds, and it’s easy to hear a wide soundstage. Switching over to country music, I listened to Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet performing 5 O’clock Somewhere, and the headphones gave a beautiful performance of the vocals without them getting muddy with instruments. For those that just like “noise” and bass, I gave Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” and it thumped and sounded perfectly gritty and raw. Overall these sound almost as good as monitor headphones I’ve had that cost twice as much.
Now for the fashionistas out there, these are not only great sounding headphones, but they look incredible too. Very soft blue, with a lot of curves and “soft” design. These are comfort headphones. I listened to music for 2 hours wearing these without any sweaty ear syndrome.
Noise cancelling worked great, easily matching the quality of more recognizable international brands. It comes with a great storage case that will keep these headphones safe when not worn, and I. Am looking forward to many years of experiencing music through these wonderful headphones.

This wallet holds on really well! The click lock technology secures the wallet firmly to the phone with little to zero chance of the wallet accidentally getting knocked off or loose. To remove after it attaches, I have to dig my nails under the wallet and pull - not tug- to remove. It’s a rock solid connection. Design is super plain. No texture. No fake rubber stickers or any non-slip surface. It’s just a plastic square that holds an id and a few cards. It’s a fingerprint magnet as well. It’s definitely subscribed to the function over fashion line of product design. Zero bells or whistles. I have really sweaty hands, so a rubberized texture or simulated leather panel would have gone a long way and easily secured 5 out of 5 stars. As it is, it’s a fully capable wallet for those that don’t want “wallet lines” when at the clubs or exercising with your phone but don’t want to wear a fanny pack from the 1990’s. Stick your id, atm card, and one other card and they hold super securely. Adds minimal bulk to the phone’s form.

Great clear soft case

This is a pretty impressive clear case. When I bought my iPhone 15 pro, I bought a cheap clear case online with MagSafe compatibility. Felt too rubbery and the built in kickstand was cheaply assembled. There is a reason Speck cases are more pricey than the mall kiosk cases. This case is more transparent, plus the locking mechanism built in is impressive. Works great with their MagSafe wallet. Phone fits in quite snuggly, and the MagSafe works flawlessly. Does not impede reception or signal strength. Still connects flawlessly to Apple Watch. Overall, it’s a great accessory. It lets the gorgeous blue color of the iPhone shine through. It also doesn’t add a lot of bulk. Feels super comfy in the front pocket. Highly recommend snagging glass protection for the cameras and the OLED screen to maximize protection.
Really, my only “issue” is the lack of a kickstand. I really love using the always on “alarm mode” and I miss having a kickstand, which is really a “must have” on a phone case in 2023.

Only have 2 wires on thermostat where do I put them on new one if I run 2 new wires from a 24 volt transformer where do I put them on what terminals help??
You need 3 minimum. R for power, C for common, and W for the heater.... if you have AC, there are up to 5 or 6.

How can I determine if I have the "C" wire? Do I have to remove the existing thermostat?
Remove the thermostat. Look at the connections. Many have labels near them. R, C, W, Y, G, etc. C is what you want to look for.

It’s quirky. If you have young kids, it’s worth a few days of play. Adults will probably stick it on a shelf and ignore it after a few hours, or keep it at the office as a cute conversation piece. Depends on how nerdy you are.

Can you use the pro heat 2x revolution pet pro upright deep cleaner-silver/purple on tile? I have ceramic, porcelain, laminate with this work on all of these types of tile?
It's not designed for tile, so I wouldn't want to risk it.
