Sound! What can I say about the animated DC universe with its regular releases of titles that include everything from Batman to the Justice League. I love watching these films on a 180" screen w/ full 7.1 surround as well as ButtKicker Transducers! I recently found myself being drawn in more nod more into animated stories as they finally have taken the leap from the days when the IUron Giant broke the "G" ratings barrier and we finally got PG and a story that's a hidden classic. Jump forward a decade plus and we now have an animated series that caters to adults with language and story lines that need not be designed around a child's pointer of view. I highly recommend anyone start buying these DC series as they get released! Why? Support. The more interest and the more support this Genre gets the more we get released in return. As to this particular film I loved it! Nothing like relaxing with some popcorn and enjoying some amazing work. I love the voice actors and tireless attention to detail..

Better than expected, a good buy for the $

This is an excellent film if you can get it for the right amount of money. Why say that? Well I don't believe Its worth the full release day price but was willing to pay $14.99. I watch all films on my 180" Screen with full 7.1 surround and buttkicker transducers. The Video was dark, but good and audio was outstanding. How was the movie you wonder? Well without ruining anything Id say its right on! In fact if you have children and have ever vacationed in a 3rd world country or worse then this film will be a great eye opener to just what could happen and how brutal surviving can be. There's a scene where Owen Wilson (Hero/ Dad) has to save his family on a roof top & when you have kids things are not easy! I LOVED IT! So realistic! Kids don't always jump, they cling, get scared and just cant always understand dangers...... I truly believe the director met his goals of making an Action thriller that encompassed a good amount of drama. The trick question is; How often will I watch it? That tuff. It resonated so well that I remembered so much of the film. This takes away replay-ability. If money isn't an issue then enjoy. If you have a price per watch thing going on Id guess ill watch it every other year? Its hard to say. It made for a good one time story I wont soon forget... Recommend for impact.

I bought this film a month after it released on Blu-ray. Truthfully I expected Nerve to be just another "Teen" movie with no substance & a poor story line. My wife & I watch on a 180" home theater screen w/ full projection, 7.1 surround sound & Buttkicker Transducers. The Video & Sound quality are superb! The big surprise was the story! I love film, and really try to give every film a fare shake. My pre-conceived notions were that this film would be shallow and lack a solid story-line. My wife felt the same. We were both very wrong! This film was entertaining to say the least. We even noticed some rather 'famous' YouTubers who were included in the filming. Without giving Away the story I will give leave this review with a strong recommend! As you follow the charecters through a fantastic adventure that seems up front and in control, thing twist & the fun ensues and oddly things spiral into an even more "controlled" environment you can help but get swept up in. Everything from the technology to the sheer wit is interesting. Highly Recommend!

I avoided this film in the theater due to a certain video website literally shoving this trailer down my throat for 2 weeks straight! Regardless I have a 180" screen with projector set up with 7.1 surrround and a Buttkicker transducer system. Paul Dana (HANK) is stranded and literally at the end of his rope. He finds dead harry potter and the roller coaster ride begins. Seriously though, I have to give props to Daniel Radcliffe as he plays an excellent corpse! The audio & Visual of the disk was great. The adventure was fun and the film was rather original. Technically I'd give this a 3.5 out of 5 but couldn't so I rounded up. I thing this film lacks with the score. The film had moments when a good score should have brought you to the precipice of tears of joy to laughter but without the sound being fantastic, it made the scene just OK> Imagine everytime Darth Vader walks in and you never had that "Dun, Dun, Da, Dun, Da, Da, Dun," Score... Yeah.. Lots of this movie felt like it was missing something.. A better score!

Being an adult who used to watch Pete's Dragon so much that I wore out the VHS tape when I was a kid, I found this film to be pretty disappointing. I have a 180" Scrren at home with Projector & 7.1 surround with Buttkicker Transducer system. I can say 100% that the audio and visuals were beautiful & powerful. What the film lacked was heart and story! 3 Stars is average, 2 is consider "Fair" and that's ALL this film was. Its totally forgettable. To me it wasn't petty things like adding hair to Eliot that some people have brought up, but the fact that the original was an amazing musical! The songs were spectacular and I strongly believe Disney got this one wrong. The jump to take classics and make them live action is ok if done correctly. Even Baloo in the Jungle book live action had a bit of some singing. The original revolved around this "adopted" orphan turned slave (for lack of better words) who met an amazing lighthouse keeper suffering her own agony that still took in this child claiming to have seen the very dragon that drove her father into drinking constantly. I'll stop there... Chances are if you watch the original first it will ruin the new one. I expected to see something along the older story just with a few changes.. The light house keeper is a forest ranger? NOPE! The vilified family relentlessly chasing the boy because "We got a Bill that says right here, that says he belongs to us!" Didn't exist in the new petes dragon. Not even the Dragon could do a murmur type talk... Brr brr br brrrp? Thumbs down. Im sorry, but this did no justice to the original. I don't recommend. I want to make it clear that had the original NOT ever exsisted that I still wouldn't give this film more that 2 (Fair) stars.. Again. Forgettable!

Again like my review of "The Purge Election Year" I found this film to be what the Purge should have been. I didn't buy the Original as it truly lacked the entire concept of being able to do anything you want. The original turned out to be nothing more than a home invasion film. However I highly recommend the Purge Anarchy & Election year! Both of these films bring what the first film lacked entirely. Bothe had great visual quality on my 180" theater screen as well as perfect sound on my 7.1 surround sound system to include the Buttkicker Transducer system. All in all this was a fun film and I recommend it with Election year!

From the second I came accross the trailer on online I knew I was buying this film... Now Im a person who owns a 180" Home theater screen with projector & full 7.1 surround sound & Buttkicker transducer system. For a film to get me to support it and pay theater prices along with concessions takes A LOT. This just was not one of them however I wanted to buy it the day it came out,. I ended up waiting until the price dropped below $19.99. However in this instance I feel that even if I had gone to the theater I would have walked away satisfied! Im extremely happy with not only the quality of the picture and sound, but also the special features! My wife & I both looked at each other like, "How on earth did they get approval to make this film!"? Well, it took over 10 years to get it approved! All of the executive producers kept shooting this film down. It was raw, funny, quite "Sensual :p", and overall perfect for any mature person who wants to laugh their butt off! This film has some of the best out of the box thinking Ive seen. It will be a classic, just watch!

I loved the Mechanic. Jason Stathem takes the screen. If I didn't own a 180" movie theater in my house that literally feels like Im watching an IMAX film everytime I would have been upset I didn't support this by going to the theater. Fact is that it wasn't advertised enough! The sound and picture quality was suburb and that's on a 180" screen. Full 7.1 surround with Buttkicker transducers! The action was packed. The film takes place a good while after our "Mechanic" disappeared from his brush with death. Someone exploits the video of his survival into forcing our Mechanic into doing just "3 more jobs". Our "anti-Hero" is not keen on getting back into the business yet seems outsmarted and is indeed forced to make people accidentally die. To say this film is a step up form the prior film is like comparing my 65" screen to my theater. The stunts, action, adn story was actually very fun, very engaging and would be added to my action section with pride. The film gets even better with the addition of Tommy Lee Jones! I figured there would be a twist the second he was selected as one of the targets. Needless to say I hav no doubt that this series will continue to Franchise at least to a trilogy. Fun Film!

Honestly if I could give the film 5 stars I would as Tom Hanks delivers his signiture amazing performance. However the film, meaning the story, script... I mean this story was rather dull. Typical American Small business going after a lucrative Arabic contract in the broiling middle east only to be jerked around by the royalty that runs the country. The side story between Tom Hanks & the oppressed female doctor gave more interesting dialog with yet some rather gross physical ailments that could easily have been changed to something that didn't make you want to stop eating! I watch all my films on a 180" screen with projector giving an IMAX feeling at home. There was nothing about the sound that stood out. Picture quality was amazing! The director did a great job of making the King and his subordinated look like a bunch or rich jerks, and to top it off the ending of the deal only adds to the frustration. I often wondered while placing this film in the section that's dedicated for films to only be watched maybe once every 10+ years, if the director meant to take such a brilliant actor and make him appear.... Nevermind, I don't recommend. Im sorry. Everytime I think back on this film I get frustrated.

Finally watched all of the Purge Films....

So after years of the Purge I finally decided to buy them all on blu-ray for a fun weekend watch. I didn't buy the 1st one as it was quickly labeled nothing more than a glorified home invasion film.. With such a great Idea of a yearly purge why on earth would you turn it into a home invasion flick? Anyhow, years later and we get The Purge Eection Year and so on... This is a freshly needed update to the 1st film. As I watch all my films on a 180" projected screen in my home theater it feels like watching this in an IMAX theater for the 1st time! The sound and picture quality on the film were fantastic. The story was engaging and I highly recommend this to others.... If added to you collection I see this as an annual watch... Maybe during election seasons as well. It was a lot of fun!
