Netgear repeated offered to "fix" their modem remotely for fees ranging from $39.99 for one-time to $179.99 for 2 years. Would not honor warranty but Best Buy did so I'm a Best buy customer for life.

The Netgear N450 was easy to install with very informative and simple instructions. I purchased it for $104 including the sales tax to replace the rental modem from Comcast which was recently increased from $8 to $10 a month. I haven't tried the wireless feature yet but I assume it will work as flawlessly as the modem.

is this modem compatable with comcast internet
It is compatible BUT I have had recurring problems with it requiring many reboots. The Netgear tech support organization was of no help but tried to sell me remote maintenance whereas the Geek Squad confirmed that the problem seemed to be hardware even though Netgear said it was "settings" and couldn't offer any warranty replacement. I am currently negotiating with Best Buy for their assistance in resolving this warranty issue. Based on Netgear's lack of assistance I would NOT recommend any Netgear product.
