Pretty and stylish but it wasn't consistent in it's readout of my weight. Three attempts in a 15 minute period gave me three different readings that were a pound off each time from the last reading.

Disney produced this distilled Hitchcockian suspense yarn, diluted for the consumption of children. Hayley Mills stars as Nikky Ferris who is spending time in Crete at a small inn called The Moon-Spinners with her Aunt Frances (Joan Greenwood). One day Nikky discovers a handsome young man, Mark Camford (Peter McEnery), wounded in an empty church nearby. It turns out that Mark was once a London bank messenger, but he lost his job after a major jewel robbery. Tagged as a suspect, Mark has made his way to the inn to gather evidence against the inn's owner, Stratos (Eli Wallach), who Mark thinks is the real jewel thief. Nikky and Mark fall in love and decide to capture Stratos together. Silent screen vamp Pola Negri makes a luminous appearance as a jewelry aficionado.
Great movie that is true to the book. Haley Mills, Peter McEnery and Eli Wallach are absorbing characters to watch and as is was shot in Greece, the scenery is beautiful! Great family movie with some sinister plots that are just enough to keep your attention.
This release features Wildflower, a drama set in the rural South of the '30. The made-for-cable film is about a teen (Reese Witherspoon) who become friends with an epileptic girl named Alice (Patricia Arquette), who has been forced to live in the barn behind her father's house because he believed her seizures were the work of the devil. With the help of the two teenagers, the girl is able to become part of everyday society. This set also includes three bonus films; David's Mother, Bruno, and Who Loves the Sun.
Great Depression Era movie that is uplifting and true to the times. Great cast with Beau Bridges, Reese Witherspoon and a young Patricia Arquette in the title role that is outstanding.
Fun in Hawaii with a great cast. This movie was the beginning of all the beach party movies of the sixties. Deborah Wally does a great Gidget and unlike Sandra Dee, is more athletic. Does a lot of her own stunts on the surf board too!

Megan Follows, who literally grew up before the viewers' eyes as star of the Canadian TV series Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea, returns to the role of Lucy Maud Montgomery's plucky Canadian lass Anne Shirley in this four-hour TV miniseries. In the second decade of the 20th century, all grown up and a professional schoolteacher, Anne returns to Prince Edward Island after the death of her mentor, Marilla Cutherbert (played by the late Coleen Dewhurst in stock-footage flashbacks). Soon thereafter, Anne heads to New York City, intending to marry her physician fiancé, Gilbert Blythe (Jonathan Crombie), and, hopefully, to find success as an author. Alas, Anne's first manuscript is stolen by charming scoundral, Jack Garrison Jr. (Cameron Daddo), while Gilbert is defeated by the internal politicking and red tape of a big-city hospital. The couple is about to relocate to their native Canada when WWI breaks out, whereupon Gilbert dutifully signs up for military service. When word arrives that Gilbert is missing in action, Anne courageously heads off to wartorn France in hopes of finding her husband -- only to become mixed up in an espionage plot that also involves the redoubtable Jack Garrison. Originally telecast in Canada beginning March 5, 2000, Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story was seen in the United States courtesy of PBS on July 23 and 30, 2000.
