A Wonderful JRPG...If You Skip The Story

I bought this after playing the 3 hour demo, and have packed in a ton more hours on top of that. The mechanics, sound, and graphics of the game blew me away and immersed me into their amazing world they built. Unfortunately the story does not hold up as the eight individual stories are generic and at times annoying. While certain characters were engaging the overall storyline did not work for me, and I found myself skipping a lot of the scenes. I would suggest skipping all 8 intro chapters and reading the journal to see if you like the storyline before jumping in head first. Still worth your time for every other aspect of this engaging JRPG.

This game does what BOTW did to the Zelda series. It reinvented what it meant to be a Mario game in the best possible way. It is a bit easier than I would've liked especially compared to Zelda, but the fun is in the exploration and amazing world they built. The capture mechanic alone is worth the price of admission, and it made me throw Cappy at everything imaginable. MUST BUY for anyone with a switch.

I was enthralled by the original game with its Nemesis system and combat, and with the sequel they tweaked it to perfection. Everything is polished and bigger with more armies, worlds, and creatures to control. With such a short warranty out of the store this seems like a requirement for more expensive things in the store. However for $20 it is not a bad deal considering you get replacements no questions asked so if you want a new one in 3 yrs you can even if there's nothing wrong.
