I wanted something not as "limited" as a tablet, but not as large as a laptop. The surface fits this profile perfectly. Looks and performs great.
Two issues that need to be addressed however.
- Wont wake up from sleep (common issue MS is attempting to fix)
- The USB port is not shielded causing some wireless devices to render your wifi useless.

Put this into my 05 Civic to swap out and older Kenwood unit with no Aux. It was a direct swap and easy to install.
Great features. HD Radio, Pandora, iHeart Radio and USB/AUX. NOTE: does not have a CD Drive.
Sounds good and easy to use, with a remote too!
Only con (and its a big one to me) is that in ANY type of daylight (not even sunlight) the display is almost impossible to read. Ive considered swapping it out with other Kenwood units however all of them seem to suffer this issue reading reviews.

I was honestly a little disappointed when I started reading the reviews of this "signature" type cover.
For $30 more you are basically getting a "melange" cover, that's identical to the other cheaper ones but it has alcantara. Most of the reviews I read stated how "premium" this cover felt over the normal ones... however it feels identical to my old and cheaper blue one. The back of the cover is a little softer, but the keyboard side feels like cardboard just like the old ones.
The trackpad on mine is also bent or sitting too deep on one side, ill swap it out as its most likely a defect.
Overall if this item was the same price as the normal type covers it'd be fantastic however for $30 more i'd expect it to look and feel more premium.
