While it may protect from dust and liquid minimally I certainly think it would be better served as a hard cover to protect this expensive investment.

After buying another leading Bluetooth speaker which, at least initially, has shown to be good also and a tad less expensive due to being on sale. I was forced to rethink my initial purchase due to having Bluetooth connection issues at times as well as the product just stopped charging. This is after investing just over $300.00 into this initial product 6 months previous. After much use this Bose product has clearly shown to be better. I love the sound and clarity. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for and I appreciate the quality sound with my listening experience.
