Great Price, Very Good Copier/Fax/Scanner

We previously had an Epson printer, which broke down, so we went to Best Buy to try and find a good replacement. Since Consumer Reports had given the Epson XP-830 excellent ratings, we decided to go ahead and get another Epson. The XP-830 has proven to be a much better printer than our previous one (Epson XP-850). The only snag we have had is that sometimes when I print an envelope from the rear paper feed slot, the Microsoft Word program will then try to default to printing from that rear slot on the next document, even when I am just doing a regular 8-1/2 x 11 document. To make sure that doesn't happen, I always check the printer properties before doing a print job. We also had problems with the old Epson when we scanned documents, so we often had to turn off the printer or turn off both the computer and printer to reset everything and be able to scan documents again. This new Epson doesn't have that problem and it does a very good job on scanning.

Retractable Cord is a Plus

This is an average toaster, but I purchased it because I really like having a retractable cord and it was available at a good price. The cord on this one works well. I also wanted a stainless steel toaster and this one fits that need. However, we have had problems with the toaster mechanism "catching" when you put it down to make toast. Sometimes we have to push it down several times before it catches, especially if we are toasting very thin slices of bread. I do like the removable crumb tray. It is metal, but has a plastic edge so that you always avoid burning your fingers.

Keurig Donut Shop is comparable to Dunkin Donuts standard K-cups, but a much more reasonable price per cup. I like buying it in the large multi-packs because this is my family's favorite coffee flavor, so we go through a lot. Great Features & Good Brand

We wanted to upgrade to a larger TV and also wanted a smart TV so we would have internet options for viewing. My only criticism of the newer TVs like this one is that they don't come with a standard web browser. Instead, there are pre-set internet options. Still, it does make it easy to access the pre-sets, such as HBO Go (but not Showtime Anytime). Picture is very sharp, colors are vivid. We purchased this particular brand and model based on recommendations in Consumer Reports, as well as advice from our Best Buy sales associate. We are extremely happy with the new TV. Our only minor issue was that after we got the set out of the box (and had recycled and/or trashed all the packing materials), we discovered that the TV was a little bit too wide to just slide into our entertainment center. However, we were able to angle the TV into the slot, connect the cables, and then straighten it in the slot, thus ensuring that it will NEVER accidentally fall out of the opening (which is a nice safety feature, actually). The other feature which may be minor to some is that the TV is elevated a few inches, which allows me to dust underneath it with a swiffer type duster. Again, just a nice feature that was important to me, since I could not dust around our previous TV without angling it out of the slot, which was always a risky procedure with a big TV.

Power Advantage PLUS 9 Speed Hand Mixer with Storage Case

This is my first all electronic mixer and I am really happy to have one that works so well. It's more expensive than some brands, but well worth the money if you do even occasional food prep. I really like the plastic carrying case, but found it was a little tight to store the mixer accessories (dough hooks, whisk, and beaters) AND the power cord in the case. Consequently, it is difficult to get the mixer to "snap" into the top of the carrying case when you put it away. I haven't pushed too hard on the mixer when snapping it into the case out of fear that I will break the plastic parts. Also, I thought that the set was missing an accessory when I saw there was only one whisk that can be snapped into the mixer, but looking at the instruction book, I can see it was designed for a single whisk. The ejection button works well, the operation is very quiet compared to other mixers (a big plus for me as my kitchen is open to my living area), and the speed ranges from super low to a reasonably high speed, perfect for all my recipes.
What's great about it: Smooth operation and a Good Range of Speed Options
What's not so great: Doesn't always firmly snap into the carrying case

Does the toaster have a buzzer or bell to signal when time is up? If so, is it excessively loud?
No, it doesn't have a buzzer, but you can watch the electronic timer to see the countdown from start to finish, so you will know when the toasting has been completed.
