I will be honest, I am a fair-weather Death Cab fan. I generally get bored and skip around their albums when I put them on, but this is different. It is brilliant from start to finish, i love every track
Great album that shows Big Sean's ability to go between radio hits and real emotion in his work. He may not be the best rapper in the game, but he certainly deserves the attention he is getting. Great album from start to finish.
Lana Del Ray is best known for the Summertime Sadness remix but she is rarely so exciting. She depends on downtempo blues and singing about her hardships. This album is an excellent sophomore effort as long as the listeners expects the real Lana and not some remix that is played on the radio constantly.
Memphis May Fire have become a Rise Records staple artist as of recent releases, but this EP showcases the band before they were just turning out generic hardcore. It was recorded as the band transitioned and showcases 5 strong tracks for the group!
Tiesto is a monster in the industry but with this album, he looks for the radio and arena success of his fellow DJ's such as Avicii, Hardwell, and David Guetta. He has some smash hits like Red Lights and some lame pop attempts like Wasted. Overall, it's a fun album that requires no thought to enjoy on a drive in the car or while out for a run.
The Black Keys have become a household name in recent years and after the success of El Camino, the world was waiting for a new Black Keys album. Turn Blue is certainly full of the passionate blues rock fans have been given in the past. I enjoy the album from front to back, but my only issue with the album is that their is no stand out single, in the vein of what has become expected of The Black Keys.
