This was an upgrade for me from the Canon 60D. The 7D mkII is a great choice for someone who is comfortable shooting in manual mode and is looking to upgrade. While it is a crop sensor camera it can compete with the higher end Canon full frame sensor models at a lower cost. Having a shot rate of 10fps makes this camera great for shooting sports, wildlife and other situations where one needs to keep up with the action. I have gotten some very nice shots of birds in flight that would have been difficult to capture with the 60D and its slower fps. The autofocus works well in keeping a moving target in focus when using ai servo and back button AF. The lens that comes with the camera is good for a kit lens, all of the pictures I have taken with this lens are sharp and clear. One other thing I have noticed is that this camera has a much quieter shutter than the 60D, while this may be nit picking and irrelevant to some, it was something I noticed from the start. Overall I think it's a very good camera and a good choice for someone looking to upgrade without the expense of a full frame sensor camera.
