I have had my x940e for about a month and am very happy. It replaced an 11 year old 50" plasma screen so the difference is quite striking! Ultimately the test of any TV is the picture quality. All of Sony's engineering feats such as the X1 processing chip, the full panel backlighting and the upscaling combine to provide the best picture I have ever seen. One of the nicest things for me is that with my Sony receiver, Bravia control and the IR Blaster, I can turn on and control most functions of the receiver and cable box with the TV remote. That might not seem like a big deal but for 11 years I have had to use a universal remote and separately control these 3 main components. I also like the app that is available. Since it operates on wi-fi you don't need to aim it at the TV, and you can always find it, unless you lose your phone. The biggest downside, which applies to any 4k/HDR TV is the dearth of source material. You really need a good internet connection because that's going to be your best source of 4K material, unless you invest in a UHD player. Personally I refuse to buy movies again that I already own on DVD and Blu-Ray. Broadcast is at best 1080i and it will be many years, if ever, before it becomes 4k. Streaming is the best source IMO, but even then there isn't much, and the 4k material that also has HDR is even more sparse. However more material is becoming available every day, and the video processing makes all other source types look great!
