I picked this up for my father who is in his 70's and not a tech person. It's fairly simple enough for him to use to watch history documentaries on YouTube and do online banking. If you are looking for a premium feeling tablet that has a great screen and is used primarily for entertainment this is good. The build quality is the best in it's class. You could do productivity on it but might find the smaller screen less helpful than an iPad with a bigger screen.

Good protection with one small caveat

It is great at protectecting your Apple Watch and is securely attached. The only issue is that in certain screens the shield covers a portion of what is on the screen. Now this would not stop me from buying one but it is a slight annoyance. You can see in the picture the last number of the clock is obscured.

Half-baked as a smart speaker

As an Apple fan it pains me to not recommend the HomePod. Now as a speaker with Apple Music it is fantastic and if that is what you want you should hands down purchase one. I have Apple Music and it integrates and sounds amazing on the Homepod. What is frustrating is the weakness of everything else. It constantly misunderstands (except oddly with Apple Music commands) the queries given to Siri. It frustrates me when my iPhone and Hompod fight for control (Apple needs to get their act together on this). It's a nightmare using it with the Home App (although I don't know if this is an issue with my Phillips Hue Lights, the Homepod or both). Bottom line if you must have the best speaker for Apple Music this is for you. All others: what till Apple makes it more useful and stable.

This is a handy dandy little keyboard. It has a great tactile feel and the ability to quick switch between three blutooth devices. It requires batteries but they last a very long time (like 18 months). I switch between my Windows 10 computer, my iPhone and my iPad. When these work they are amazing, but there is some wonky-ness at play. In all fairness, I’m not certain if the problem lies at the feet of Apple or Phillips. My biggest frustration is sometimes lights with in a scene will not come on, or will be dimmed. Smart electronics are to provide convienince and these sometimes make you wish you’d just have gotten up and flipped the wall switch. On a good note Phillips is the most likely company to stay in the smart light game. Hopefully future updates will smooth things out.

Great when it’s not frustrating

I recently bought enough lights to do a number of rooms at my home. The experience is inconsistent in execution. Sometimes I tell Siri (on the HomePod) to turn lights on in said room and it does it with no hitch, other times it turns only some of them on. It is also frustrating when the iPhone and the HomePod jockey for control and they cancel the one you want to use out. The most infuriating thing is the leaving commands that it invariably screws up nine times out of ten. On the plus side set up of these lights is fairly simple. If I had to do this over I would have waited for the tech to be fully baked. My wife consistently messes up the system by manually shutting off lights and hates the system....which gives me a consistent headache. That said this is probably your safest bet on a light setup that will stick around. The Hue system is the dominate player in the market and it’s doubtful you will buy these and see them be bricked in a couple of years down the road. One tip I will give you is make sure you name the rooms in a fashion that everyone using them will remember. Also, if you are an Apple user I would suggest changing the generic leaving command to something you prefer.

If you don't have an Apple TV and you want to have your lightning equipped Apple products on a tv or monitor this is the way to do it. It's not complicated: attach this to the hdmi cord going into your tv/monitor, next plug the Lightning cord into the Apple product and it should appear on the screen. A power slot on the cord allows you to plug a lighting cable into it to charge the product. One complaint that I have is that the Apple product isn't always formatted to the size of the screen.

It does connect to wifi. It does not have its own cellular service so you would need to have wireless internet wherever you are attempting to use this. I do believe that there is a YouTube app for it (Google and Amazon had a spat and Amazon yanked YouTube off their tablets but I think they are okay now). IF not you can always go to the YouTube website on the Fire's browser and watch. Hope that helps!

Will these bulbs work on a fan
Yes, they should. I have four of them in my fan in my living room. I even screwed in a bulb extension that allows two bulbs in one socket. As long as you have a separate switch for the lights and the fan I would not see a problem. In order to control them with the app you will need to remember to have the light switch left in the on position and let the app shut the lights off.

Can I use this cable to connect two monitors to a Dell Inspiron with a video card that supports VGA and HDMI?
Want to use two monitors in a Church AV setting. One monitor will display the music app and one will display the words to the song that will be shown on the big screens. Need to be able to drag the songs from one screen to another.
It should work. If it doesn't they will take it back in the store within 15 days I believe.
