Great bang for your buck

We've got a few dozen Insignia TV's around campus for Announcements and some classroom and group stuff. We've only ever had one go bad, and I think that was building power instead of the TV itself. It may not be a high end Samsung or Sony device, but we've not had any complaints from staff or students other than the ever present, "Could you have bought a bigger one?"

Useful, but not without quirks

The type covers have been a nice thing to have since the first Surface line, but I've noticed that all of us seem to rip them off a few times per week in a fit of irritation because they'll stop talking with the surface. Based on the firmware updates we see coming through windows updates it seems like some group at Msft can't seem to iron out all of the kinks at once with these little guys, but generally, if your device becomes unresponsive, you can just detach and reattach the keyboard and the surface goes right back to its awesome little self.

We have between 30 and 35 of these guys in our IDF's around campus at any given time. We're using them instead of expensive rack mount gear to keep our low end switches alive in the event of a power blip. We have only had one cook off so far, and that was because a water line in an adjacent mechanical area burst and soaked it down. So far so good on run time and the alerts they send out have been useful.

Borderlands is hilarious gunplay at its finest

Getting the collection was an easy choice since my wife and I already have multiple copies of 1 and 2 with all the DLC. The pre-sequel definitely took some getting used to, but the humor and complete disregard for all things "politically correct" kept me laughing long enough to get a better feel for the gameplay. If you like bad jokes (sometimes dirty, sometimes just really bad "Dad" jokes) and a lot of really crazy guns, Shotguns that fire rockets, Pistols that can't run out of ammo, SMG's that you throw out like grenades to reload them, then you'll enjoy this collection. Also, unlike most games these days, it still does split-screen, so couch co-op is totally a viable option.

There are lots of these little USB-to-Ethernet adapters out there to choose from. This was the 7th or 8th J5 I've bought for our office because of the configurations it can handle and the quality connection. We have lots of segments to our network and some require you set specific VLAN's on your adapter to access them, this is one of the few out there that lets you do that. We've dropped them, crushed them, and, once, accidentally lobed it across a room with an Ethernet cable (not me, a coworker :-} ) and we haven't had one die yet.

I love the surface and its accessories

Okay, so we already had several different models of Surface Pro's and their pens in the office. One died a horrible death in a backpack so we grabbed this one as a replacement. The color was nice because no one else had a cobalt colored pen yet, but the real kicker was all of the specialized nibs that come with the pen. We all use our surfaces for notes and light artwork, but the extra shapes and frictions have made that front a lot easier to manage. Definitely worth the cost of entry if you are replacing a pen, and probably worth it if you just want a neat color and the extra nibs without having to do a special order through M$FT.

I waited way too long to pick up the latest Halo title. My wife and I really enjoy the co-op modes, and so far the multiplayer has been far more stable than Destiny, or 2 of the 3 most recent CoD entries. The "balance" of the multiplayer seems to be a lot better thought out, as far as everyone starting each match from the same place and the hundreds of customization options make it easy to make your Spartan your own. If nothing else, the fact that all the additional content is 100% free puts this game WAY above all the money treadmills out there these days *cough* destiny *cough*
