My main reasoning for purchase was for the apps while still having a Blu-Ray player for occasional use on a new TV. The Netflix app seems a bit sluggish, but at least not nearly as bad as the Netflix app on my old Roku Stick. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't boot as fast as I expected, and there's no real indication that it's powering up until it hits the main menu, so there have been multiple occasions where I've found myself wondering if my remote was even working.

I bought this for the finished basement in my new house. Once I got it all set up, it worked great right out of the box. Of course it's not going to have the greatest picture in the world (especially with 4K out now) or the best sound, but personally I think it's a fantastic value and I've never been disappointed by any Insignia product I've ever owned. It only loses a point because the volume seems slightly weaker than the 50" that is mounted in my living room, so I had to turn it up louder while working on other things in the room.
Insignia™ TV Stand for Most TVs up to 60": With multiple cabinets for A/V storage and a capacity of up to 100 lbs., this TV stand delivers a simple solution for organizing your home theater. The wood finish offers a high-end look to complement your living room.
Bought this along with a brand new 55" Insignia for the finished basement in my new house. Fairly easy to put together, and I appreciate that the back panel isn't like on other furniture you get sometimes where you have to just nail randomly into a panel that might not even be properly measured or cut. The panel on this comes with screws and designated holes for attachment, making the whole process much more secure and smooth.

A significant improvement over the old Roku Stick.

I bought this on a recent sale to upgrade from a Roku Stick. (In particular, one of the previous generation purple models) The Roku had a LOT of trouble with Netflix, along with a LOT of trouble consistently seeing my networked DLNA server.
While I have had random issues with the Fire TV Stick (like the fact that my bedroom TV's USB port apparently isn't powerful enough to run the Stick, and the error message I got initially about not having enough power even though I plugged into an outlet with the included block and cable) it has been a significant improvement in terms of performance, and because I already paid the $5 for Plex to have streaming on my Kindle Fire, I also have that level of access on my Fire TV Stick.
