When using an A B switch box to put my computer monitor image on the tv does the quality of my original monitor matter?
I have my computer connected to an a/b switch box, so I can project my computer onto the tv in my conference room. My desktop monitor is dying so I have to get a new one, does it matter what monitor I buy to enhance the image on the tv?
Not at all. The TV will dictate its own picture, so the monitor and TV will not have any affect on each other. It is best to match resolutions with the two though, as going from one to another can affect window positions and desktop icons.
You may want to consider connecting the TV as a second monitor, if your video card supports it. It is how I use mine, and it is much easier. I can use the main monitor to get things ready to display on the TV, and just place them on the TV when ready.
