Furious says goodbye to Paul Walker

Furious 7 was epic! It took what we have all loved of the first six movies and went even further! Car chases galore, car crashes, devious plots, action fight scenes, and at the end, a tribute to Paul Walker, who died during the filming of the movie, by Vin Diesel. It touched me, and I will personally miss Paul Walker. Too many are taken too young.
Back on the movie, Paul, Vin, Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson make this movie totally Rock! YES, pun intended! :)

The original Pitch Perfect was an immediate hit with my family, so we had to see the second movie when it came to theaters. It was a great movie, but in a different way. The first one was all sorts of songs you can sing along with and keep smiling. The second movie kicks it up a notch and gets faster rifts, more complex song mixes and is totally a joy to watch, but not going to be a soundtrack we need to buy to sing along with. Enjoy the same cast, going even further with a cappella music, it's a great ride til the end!

Who hasn't dreamed of having some super power? With all the super hero movies that are dominating the movie theaters, I would say the answer is probably everyone has wished they had some sort of power.
Well in Next, the power is the ability to see two minutes into the future. Might not seem that useful, unless you are like Nick Cage, and use it for personal gain as a "magician", and at the card tables. If you know the outcome of a hand before it is played, you can tell if you should stay in, or fold before committing money.
The story gets unique in the fact that his power gets enhanced when he is near Jessica Biel, but heck, who wouldn't feel enhanced near her?!?!? With the added ability, Nick is tasked to save a major metropolitan area from massive bomb. Spoiler alert, he fails, everyone dies. Sorry to kill it for everyone... Okay, maybe not fully true, but you will have to see the movie to understand what I'm referring to.
The story gets unique in the fact that his power gets enhanced when he is near Jessica Biel, but heck, who wouldn't feel enhanced near her?!?!? Jim Carrey in a unique "reality show" movie

Jim Carrey's character, Truman, is famous without knowing it. I think there are many celebrities that might like having fame like he has. Having the whole world watching him, loving him, and looking forward to what each new day brings. But to have the character completely oblivious to that fact.
I have loved this movie for years, but watching it again now made me see a different angle that I had not picked up on before... How did he grow up, and have a life in this controlled town, and not realize it was a fabricated town, with the same daily routines. Was the repetition the key to him not becoming aware of his surroundings for so long?
I would like to think I am observant enough to notice that it all seemed a bit too "perfect", and staged. But then again, if we are content with our lives, I am sure we miss things right in front of our eyes. Sorry for the side rant there...
This movie is a fun adventure, that really is appropriate for the "reality show" world we live in on tv. So much that is "in theory" unscripted... but we all know that all the reality shows are guided to increase ratings. Whether that is putting two people in a situation that is known to cause drama, or splitting up tribes because they are too comfortable to shake things up. Do we really think those were just planned mergers or splits? I am sure they were planned in developing shows, but the timing, that is what they play with to try to drive ratings. Reality is not real, no matter what the studios say, and the studios love them as they get cheap actors and actresses, only having to pay the host, and the winners. Cash cow! It's all about the Benjamins.

I enjoyed this movie, however it was very interesting watching a movie where the lead character was such a bad guy. Doing bad things to further himself and his career. The part that I liked about it is that I am sure there are more people out there like him than we want to believe... Stepping on people to get what they want, tampering with a crime scene to get a better shot that can be sold to the highest paying news program.
This is a gritty, thriller, which will take you on a ride of almost thinking the main character has a heart, only to be shown he was doing it all for his own glory. Follow his lead, or get out of his way...

Dumb and Dumber was a terrific movie, the follow up "prequel" that they tried to do to carry the story onward was a failure... So they tried bringing back the original duo for a new adventure. It had moments that had me laughing loudly, but sadly most of the laughs were shown in the trailers... Tried a bit too hard, but don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the movie, and would recommend it to Jim Carrey fans, or Dumb and Dumber fans. However if you are not a fan of the first one, this one won't sway your opinion.
