This is the first time I've owned one of these Game Controllers for a PC - all my experience has been with Joysticks. This little controller is really nice! So far, only used it on a few PC games, and it's a really sweet piece! Comfortable, easy to hold and use, and it works flawlessly! in MS Windows, and Linux! I would gladly recommend this controller to anyone wanting an excellent little controller at an excellent price!!!!

what cable do I need to connect my external hard drive to my tv?

I have a WD My Book external drive that I would like to connect to the tv to watch movies, which cable do I need to buy? I think the hard drive needs a USB cable and the tv needs a HDMI cable...
Most modern Flat screen LCD or Plasma TVs would most likely need A USB -to-HDMI converter/cable to play Videos from an external device such as an External Hard Drive. But you will need some way of accessing the data on the Hard Drive and showing a listing or "directory" so you can select what you want to watch and to control the playback of your content. My VIZIO and Samsung LED TVs do not have a way of directly accessing the content of an external Hard Drive, so I use my LapTop PC to accomplish those tasks. You may have other devices capable of that task, such as a Desktop or Laptop PC, or possibly a NAS (Network Attached Storage device) with that capability.
But, generally speaking, playing video content on an LED TV will require some sort of device capable of accessing and controlling the media/content you want to watch and passing it to the TV via HDMI or Composite Video interface.
If you need assistance with getting this connected and working, try your local Geek Squad from Best Buy, or a local PC Service Tech. It should be a snap for those folks!!

How can I get caller ID connected to HDMI cable?

Getting the Caller ID to display on the television is a function of the "Set-top Box". On DirecTV's Receiver it is Enabled or Disabled in the Settings section of their receiver. I would think it is that way on most systems. It will be controlled by the device in your system that has a connection for a Phone Line (RJ11 4-wire connector - NOT your Ethernet RJ45 connector which has 8 wires), which is needed to see the Caller ID information and display it on your TV when your phone rings.
I hope this information is helpful.
