There are roughly only two things keeping this system from receiving 5 stars: 1. No remote controls 2. The mounting straps cover a small portion of the front which most likely slightly muffles the volume. *that being said, we didn't notice any real significant volume issues!...(but this has been a cause of complaint with online reviews.)
After carefully reviewing people's comments on different systems, I've taken my chance on some purchases in the past with the hope that I wouldn't receive that "lemon"...that random DVD player that gets the one star rating. I've owned three different dual monitor dvd systems over the past 5 years for car travel and they ALL have failed miserably from: skipping/stalling on a smooth road to horribly cheaply made/designed head mounts to poor lighting and/or sound while watching.
Things I love about this system: 1. Strong/secure head rest mounting 2. Two complete individual systems or link them as one! 3. Carrying case 4. No skipping, stalling, or freezing of movies on rough roads 5. Good lighting/picture/sound quality

Does playback resume if powered off (say stopping to get gas?)

No sound on second unit when connected?
When connecting both units to watch the same movie, I get picture & sound out of unit A but only picture out of unit B. Is it supposed to work that way, or should I have sound out of both units?
You should have sound on both. Check your input/output to make sure you have them linked correctly. Make sure the volume is turned up on the other monitor as well.
