I wanted something that looks well built but not too expensive. Some of the South Shore reviews are thumbs up and some thumbs down. I took a chance and it turned out great. The shipping was fast. Nothing was damaged and put together quickly and easily following the given instructions. There was a small white streak/scratch on the board but every product comes with a "touch-up" marker which made it disappear immediately. I liked it so much I ordered the additional 6-drawer dresser (Step One models) which also had the same success. If I didn't already have nice night stands I would have ordered some of those as well

Better safe than sorry

I don't always get insurance, but in this case I'm going by experience. First, regular protection because I've seen consoles fail from manufacturers defects beyond normal warranties and also I've burned up system laser/drives from excessive playing ;). Second, Accidental protection because I've got two young children sharing it with me who may not be so careful as I am with it.
