Using real life actors to fill the roles of the characters out of one of my childhood cartoon favorites had me concerned, until I saw it when it was released in theaters many years ago. What usually happens, past memories rarely live up to expectations, but I was pleased with the outcome. It's story may seem a bit corny, but that was how the original cartoon's progressed. Would rate it a 4.5.

Got to admit 32 episodes took me a while to watch. Sort of like eating too much of a favorite food, while enjoying each bite. One has to string them out or they can get to be too much. Watching Fred and Barney in The Flintstones, in some ways, is like watching Laurel and Hardy shorts, or Art Carney and Jackie Gleason in The Honeymooners. Lots of conflicting situations, brought about by Fred's hair brained schemes. Those were the days. Only deterrent: Recent animation leaves The Flintstone's simple artwork in the dust.

This epic film, which runs nearly 4 hours, garners a well deserved place in movie history as one of the best films ever produced. It illustrates much of what the South was like during that era, in its portrayal of its people and the hardships they went through, before, during and after the Civil War. Great acting, storyline and overall, an educational movie well worth watching with the family.

Probably the most epic of costumers from the past, "CLEOPATRA" cost a fortune but the sets are magnificent. This movie demands to be seen in BluRay format. One always wonders how much of the storylines in historical movies are based on real life, and how much has been created to give more depth to the characters. If it's this enjoyable to the eyes, who cares. The lines are sometimes stilted, artificial if you will, but the acting is still pretty good. A few of Cleo's outfits were risque for the 60's, and leave little to the imagination.
The complete series of movies about a flabbergasted security guard (Ben Stiller) and his adventures with historical diorama figures come to life in the American Museum of Natural History. Includes Night at the Museum, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb

I love special effects movies, and these 3 have them in spades. Each movie is complete in itself. Together however, the three compliment each other and compose a storyline with a final resolution. Personally, I find the abundance of comedy tends to break down the continuity of each movie. I prefer movies that are more serious in nature. Better than 4, but not 5 stars.

Still the best OO7 portrayer, Connery fit the character perfectly (although Daniel Craig is a close second) when the first James Bond movies came to the screen. This, and "FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE", are my 2 favorite Bond movies. Action prevails and the actors/actresses fulfill all ones expectations. It's a 007 movie with only a few of the comic remarks that detracted from future installments. When I read Ian Fleming's 007 books (which I still reread on occasion) Bond comes across as a serious, no-nonsense spy, with special human skills, which this movie exemplifies.

Of these three movies, I enjoyed "ELEKTRA" the most. One could say it sets a precedent before the movie "WONDER WOMAN" was released. Lots of action, great story, not filled with special FX but well done, with a heroine (not hero) as the main attraction. (5 Stars) "Daredevil" was good, not great. Just not up to some of the superhero movies available today, but worth viewing. Same goes for The LOEG". I had high hopes for this one, because Sean Connery is in it. Nice special FX, characters with unique abilities, but the movie just didn't hit all the right buttons to rate 5 stars.

I admit I didn't think they could come up with enough new material to make this second movie interesting. My thanks to the writers and everyone involved with this sequel. It's hilarious fun, and had plenty of twists and turns to make it well worth watching. The actors equate to their characters very well. Now, I'm wondering what they'll come up with in what I assume will be a 3rd installment down the road.

I could hardly wait for this to come out on Blu-Ray. The story is great, and the special effects are superb. Great character development and nice twists to the story to keep one's attention span. Looking forward to when they bring out the next edition for this character. Very good acting completes the movie enjoyment.

"Scooby Doo" is, just like the Saturday morning TV show, directed toward the younger generation, and is a little too childish for my tastes. "Happy Feet" is halfway between younger and teen age fun. Has great animation with a good story. However, I bought this 3 movie set because I like the "Ant Bully". It's main character is a young boy who learns how life can quickly change when situations are reversed. This would be a great movie for parents to watch with their children as a learning process.
