This fun-filled animated comedy from Walt Disney Pictures has been released on DVD in an edition that adds plenty of goodies. Home on the Range has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.66:1, which has also been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1, with tracks in both English and French, as well as optional English subtitles. The transfer is THX-approved, and tests for fine-tuning audio and video output are included. Headlining the bonus material is a commentary track featuring writers and directors Will Finn and John Sanford and producer Alice Dewey. Also included are five deleted scenes, a music video from the Beu Sisters, a short documentary on the making of the film, a look at the movie's production art, an additional short subject starring the Three Little Pigs, a game and activity section, an extensive collection of farm-friendly jokes, and trailers for other Disney titles.
