Good blu-ray player loaded with features

I have the newer version of this blu-ray player (BDP-S6500) but have had overheating problems with it and decided to try the older unit. It works as well as the newer model and does not overheat.

What kinds of speakers is everyone using with this? Most normal bookshelf style speakers I see don't have any of the 3 required connections for the chromecast audio.
Any speaker with an Audio in/Aux-in port or RCA red + white audio in ports will work with Chromecast Audio. It comes with the correct cable for the Audio in/Aux in port and you can order the correct cable from the Google Store or any audio cable supplier (Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, etc) for the RCA red + white ports.

No, it doesn't sound normal. I would return it and try again.

Can google home be linked up with sonos systems? Does this connect through wifi?
The Google Home unit is not supported by Sonos equipment natively. If you have a Sonos base unit with RCA inputs on the back you should be able to use a Chromecast Audio unit with an RCA splitter wire to plug into the base unit. I haven't tried this yet but theoretically you should then be able to then use Google Homevoice command to play music over your Sonos system.

I just want to be able to listen / request music from radio stations I usually listen to (i.e., WBLS, HOT97,etc.). Then I can learn ways to utilize other listening options, but first, I need music while I cook, clean, watch t.v., and more!
Say " OK Google play Amy Winehouse on Pandora" and you're Google Home unit will play that genre of music. If you subscribe to Pandora One, there will no longer be the occasional commerecial that pops up. You can setup numerous music types (stations) on the Pandora web site depending on your music preferences. The Google Home doesn"t support many radio music stations at the time but I'm sure that will expand in the future.
