Will not switch to battery/defective battery

When I initially unpacked the UPS, flipped the battery, and installed it, the UPS said the battery was at 100%. I thought this odd since it was manufactured in November. I let it charge overnight anyway and the next day I installed the software and ran the self test. PC immediately powered completely off. I turned it back on and simulated a power failure by removing power to the UPS. Same thing happened. UPS does not switch over to battery power.
At peak power I am only using 20% of the UPS wattage.
When I pulled the battery out to inspect it, I did note one of the two metal tabs appeared to be missing. When I re-inserted the battery again it showed 0% charge and would not take a charge. I think the battery was damaged upon manufacture or testing.
I returned but will try again when my BB certificate is available to use again. Will update my review when I get a replacement.

Protect your Samsung Galaxy Tab A with this 10.1-inch cover. It folds neatly over your tablet so that it protects the screen, while cutouts for the camera let you use your tablet as normal. When you're ready to recharge, this 10.1-inch cover provides uninterrupted access to the ports on the bottom.

Not even close

Worst product I've ever purchased actually. Does not even come close to fitting the Tab A 10.1. About an inch too narrow. Plus no matter how you configure it, the tab A will not rest on the slanted surface without sliding off.
Very disappointing product.
