Having watched the trilogy originally on VHS then to DVD now the Blu-Ray extended edition. Mind blown!!! The movie is definitely longer then the theatrical version of it. But totally worth it!!! Seeing everything was very crisp there are moments you can tell the green screen work from the practical effects, but it doesn't take you away from the overall enjoyment.
What really created and define Sterling Archer!! It totally have the scent of the 90s all over it, but come on!!!! It's Top Gun!!! I don't really have to type anything in!!! It pretty much review itself.....plus almost a two hour movie is awesomeness!!!!
It's still an awesome movie after all this time. The story, the acting, all still hold for being a movie for its time and age. Plus seeing how rubbery the shark is in Blu Ray is just peachy! There are moments from its technology at the time of filming we wouldn't see certain things at all, but that isn't the case with Blu Ray. In one scene you will see a clear string/rope attach to the shark, but it just show us how far technology has evovle since then.
When first seeing the teaser for this Frank Miller's story from the 80s I literally melted. The animation as usual from WB Animation is still top quality. The transition from page on to moving picture was quite fitting. I can't remember the lines from the graphic novel for say, but I do believe it is word for word. Don't hold me on that count though.
If your familiar with Guillermo del Toro work and style then you won't be disappointed. You can easily confuse this with that of Tim Burton, but there are differences that set them apart. The story will keep you guessing of what is going on in Crimson Peak till the end. Plus this movie is a good example why everyone should have health insurance too.
The acting was great and believable. The sound and set were truly alive awe inspiring. The shots and composition were truly amazing as well. If you enjoy movies like Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy your in for a good treat.
Laika's third movie was by far no disappointment. After their first major release and success, Coraline. This studio have been improving on their movies from Coraline to ParaNorman there was plenty to learn from. The voice acting in Boxtroll was splendid and the animation was flawless. Once again they nailed a killer story.
If your able to watch past the credits Laika always give a tiny behind the scenes of the movie, so don't miss a drop of their work.
Growing up as a child in the late 80s. The Peanuts gallery were always around both in their show and animated movie. As the years past by the Peanuts seem to have be forgotten by the new generations till this movie. This still keeps the spirit of the Peanuts true and might while being upto date. The story, visual, sounds, and everything else was perfect including the newest voice actors doing the respect characters.
I'm not the best for doing reviews, but if you enjoy the Peanuts it is difinielty a must see.
