This keyboard is tiny and is convenient, but pricy....typical Apple.
It's nice to hook up ONE lightning cable to my iMac and use it to charge the keyboard and to sync my phone. The battery seems to last pretty long. They key travel is VERY SHORT.

This little box is AMAZING!
I have recently become disenchanted with Apple products including the Apple TV and iPhone, so when I was looking for a living room box to stream content I started researching alternatives. The Shield TV has fulfilled all my needs: Netflix, Hulu, alternative media and the occasional games. It boots fast, doesn't make a sound and is hidden behind my tv. YES it is $50 more than the 32GB Apple TV, but you can throw a thumb drive in it and store more content than that device. The included controller and remote are also great. Don't second guess your choice. THIS IS YOUR BOX.

Great TV with some caveats.

I purchased this TV as a Deal of the Day and it was a great deal!
The slim bezel design and light weight for it's size are a BIG PLUS.
One negative issue is the actual Smart Hub. You have to create a Samsung account to set it up and the interface is SLOOOOOOWWWW.
We might not have noticed this if we didn't have the Apple TV for comparison, but it is a definite slug at Netflix and Hulu. Just loading the apps takes forever. All issues aside, this was still a great deal for the price I paid.

We struggled with our old (broken) trash can and compared to it, this can is great. The premium price translates to premium quality. Even with the open top design, somehow trash doesn't stink up our kitchen and even though we fill it to the brim, full trash bags seems easier to remove than our old can. Overall, your can't go wrong with this purchase. Yes, it is pricey for "just a trash can", but hopefully this can will last a long while and the stainless steel look matches our kitchen appliances.

How well does it cancel out surrounding noise, and how is the bass quality?
Bass quality is great, but subjective from what you are coming from or have experience with. For instance, if you are used to Beats, or DJ headphones, these might seem to have more subtle bass, but only because they are more accurate to the original music file/production. Just like a home HIFI system, other brands engineer their headphones to emphasize the highs and lows. These might have a slight "smile" eq curve to them, but it's ever so subtle. Hope this helps.

Can anyone recommend a decent external hard drive or SD card to use with this device? To save 1080p movie files on /tv shows
Nvidia recommends a thumb drive actually. A Sandisk USB 3.0 for maximum transfer speeds. They make a 128GB one that I purchased from Best Buy (Nvidia has it listed under their Shield TV FAQ) and have formatted it as the Shields main internal storage. I play large games and they load fast and have no problem on this thumb drive. Hope this helps.
