Bought this for my grandson going into his senior year. I bought the 2017 latest model and it is a fast-crisp system! It connects so easily and due to its size it travels well. Finds WIFI connections very fast and they are usually safe from viruses.
I bought a 2016 version last year from my other grandson and he brings it everywhere he goes. He is always on it.

You have to check in Specifications, the latest model is 2017. The 899.99 priced MacBook Air are 2016, and the core I5 processer is not as fast. You can get an Apple Beats with the Apple purchase on the newest 2017 model and get a student discount which will bring it closer to 2016 system.
