Does this receiver have a R/L balance control?
Didn't not check but most systems that are cinema type set their setting with plug in microphone or you can adjust manually so I am sure you can adjust L or R but the distance of the speaker. You can text again and I will give you answer after I turn on my 636 again.

Which Onkyo model receiver supports 3d pass through?
I just learned recently that Onkyo TX-NR636 receiver is not 3d capable, what about others? I've seen some older models are 3d ready, I'm using a 7.2 setup with front height speakers. Also this new Dolby Atmos has caught my interest, maybe go with a Yamaha line then which gives me 3d pass through, Dolby Atmos? Gotta have 3d and my front height speaker option! Currently, using a Sony model looking to upgrade into a wireless internet unit, not sure if Dolby Atmos is that important, but 3d and front speaker height is!

It is 3D pass through capable, blue tooth, internet wifi capable was just doing a double check with 3d movie prometius looked awesome. I am going to have to watch all my 3d movies all over again!!!!!! :0 :)

I have a dvr & blue ray player both with 3d capabilities which I plug all my devices into receiver.

Does this come with AC power plug? Will it work with DVR as backup?
I need a backup HD for my DVR box & was told I need one with external power (ability to plug into wall outlet)...it won't be able to be powered off my DVR power supply. Will this model work for that purpose to backup my shows & movies to transfer to my new DVR?
No usually 3 terabytes or more require power supply

How can I connect this toshiba hard drive to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S?
I would like to play mp4 movies from this Toshiba drive onto my Samsung Galaxy Tab S. I have the Micro USB to USB adapter but can't find an APP that allows my samsung tablet to recognize the Toshiba hard drive.
You have to make sure your deviice can connect.Tablets are often limited, if you connect drive to computer you can allow access of your tab by wifi

Windows & Chrome Compatability???
I was told by the Best Buy salesman that this drive would be compatible with both Windows and Chrome. I saved my photos from my Toshiba laptop (Windows) onto the Passport drive, but when I plug it into my Chromebook, it says I cannot open the files because they're Windows format. Any suggestions? Any idea what App I would need on my Chromebook to open the Windows file?
See if you can see files on drive select a picture right click see what chrome gives you as choices to open files, try that if not google it

can i store my itunes library on my device
Yes you can if you set up your hard drive to your computer as an external drive then designate where you want to your music to be saved as your toshiba
