This release compiles every episode from season two of Helix, a science-fiction series that focused on a team of scientists from the center of disease control who travel to the Arctict in order to investigate a possible outbreak of a deadly virus, only to uncover a much larger threat to humans.

This does end with a cliff hanger, but I still think it is worth watching if you enjoyed the first season. I think part of the problem with the second season is that it works more like the beginning of a trilogy (the complaint of setting things up). I enjoyed the story in both timelines (two separated trips to this island many years apart). The final episode is quite something and the ending set up what would have been an amazing third season. Worth it if you liked the first season, I think. It may work best to binge watch it.

I know this got mixed reviews when season 1 was on, but I didn't watch any of it when it originally aired. I think it works well to binge watch. I did enjoy it and it tied into everything Marvel has been doing with the movies. I am eager to see season 2 and look forward to more from this unique show.
When aspiring doctor Olivia "Liv" Moore (Rose McIver) is transformed into a zombie, she decides the best way to satisfy her hunger for brains is to seek employment at the local morgue. Little does she know that eating the brains of murder victims not only transfers personality traits to her, but gives her a window into their unsolved demises. Three discs include every episode from season one, with extras like deleted scenes and the cast's 2014 Comic-Con panel.

I had seen the first episode only when it originally aired and loved it. I was very excited to get and see the entire series and it did not disappoint at all. It wouldn't be for everyone, but anyone who would like it, I think, would love it.

I have been watching NCIS since I caught part of an episode at the end of the second season (and then promptly went out and got caught up on the show). I have also introduced several people to it - they all are fans now too. I was wondering how Ziva would leave and I think they did the character justice - for the most part. I wasn't sure what I would think of her replacement, but I ended up liking her. If you are a fan of NCIS this is a must have.
This release collects every episode from the debut season of The Blacklist, the NBC series starring James Spader as a powerful and lethal spy who helps authorities catch other nefarious international criminals.

I didn't watch this when it was on, but a number of my co-workers did. They all loved it. I finally got it and it lived up to the hype. It is a fun show and James Spader is wonderful in it. I recently found out that my aunt loves this show too!
The fifth season of the legal drama begins with Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Cary (Matt Czuchry) secretly planning their exit from Lockhart/Gardner in order to start their own firm. But their plans are pushed into overdrive when Will (Josh Charles) learns about them and angrily confronts Alicia. Meanwhile, Eli (Alan Cumming) tries to secure Diane's Supreme Court nomination, but her candidacy puts her at odds with her colleagues. A bigger problem for Diane (Christine Baranski), however, is the way she treats Alicia upon her exit, which doesn't sit well with now-governor Peter Florrick (Chris Noth). But that's the least of his problems. Peter is investigated by a determined agent (Eric Bogosian) from the Office of Public Integrity on suspicion of voter fraud. At the new Florrick/Agos, accountant Clarke Hayden (Nathan Lane) joins the firm, while at Lockhart/Gardner Will goes against Diane's wishes and hires shady lawyer Damian Boyle (Jason O'Mara), who has ties to organized crime.

As Ryan crosses paths with some complicated people, he believes that Joe is nowhere near finished wreaking havoc.

This show is great for anyone who loves serial killer shows. It is very violent, always changing, and brings the suspense and tension. It gets over the top sometimes, but, for me at least, the ride is worth it.
The fourth season of The Walking Dead finds Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) desperate to rediscover his own humanity and preserve what he can of his son Carl's (Chandler Riggs) childhood through reinventing himself as a farmer while a counsel including Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) in addition to several Woodbury ex-pats take on leadership roles. His newfound sense of peace is quickly derailed, however, when a mysterious illness begins to decimate the community. Elsewhere, the disgraced Governor (David Morrissey) roams the apocalyptic streets on his own until happening upon a family of survivors who reignite both his will to survive and take revenge against Rick, who he blames for the loss of Woodbury. Following a massacre at the prison, the group is splintered into several factions, none of whom can be sure about the fates of the others, and forced to find shelter among a population of survivors that can pose as much and often more of a threat than the walkers themselves.

This show is a favorite of mine. I love zombie show/movies anyway, so it was a given that I would love this show. However, it really does just keep getting better and better. I love the main characters, their relationships, all of it. Also, no one is safe - ever.
The third season of this horror anthology series is set primarily at a secret school for witches in New Orleans. After an absence in Season 2, Taissa Farmiga returns to the show as Zoe Benson, a young woman who unexpectedly discovers that she possesses a dangerous supernatural ability. She's sent to the special Louisiana school--which is run by Headmistress Cordelia Foxx (Sarah Paulson)--where she embarks on spell-filled adventures with fellow witches Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts), Nan (Jamie Brewer) and Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe). Jessica Lange is also back as Fiona Goode, a powerful witch chasing eternal life, while Evan Peters plays frat boy Kyle Spencer in his return. Other familiar faces include Denis O'Hare and Lily Rabe, while newcomers Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett bring fresh excitement to the talented cast.

This season did not have as much horror as other seasons, but I still really enjoyed it. I loved Kathy Bates - although I mostly hated her character. Some of it was silly, but it was worth it for Kathy Bates alone, not to mention Angela Bassett (wonderful as always), Jessica Lang (what more can you say), and Francis Conroy (who is a favorite of mine every season).
The fourth season kicks off with Annie (Piper Perabo) and Auggie (Christopher Gorham) adjusting to their new romance and how it changes their working relationship. Annie also navigates an uneasy partnership with Henry Wilcox (Gregory Itzin), who gives her shocking information about Arthur (Peter Gallagher). Joan (Kari Matchett), forced to endure the fallout from the scandal involving Arthur, receives surprising news that complicates things further. Hill Harper joins the cast as Colombian station chief Calder Michaels.

I am a big fan of Covert Affairs so I always look forward to each new season on DVD. This one also had a fun little Auggie prequel. I do like it when there are extras like that and Covert Affairs also has fun gag reels. Not all series have fun gag reels, which seems strange to me, but Covert Affairs has ones that are worth watching. I recommend this to anyone who likes the series (and if you haven't seen it - if you liked Burn Notice I'd give it a try).
