I've read a lot of mixed reviews on this product and so far I'm pleased. A lot of people have had negative reviews purely because of Apple Carplay but I think their displeasure seems to be more with the Carplay itself and not this radio. So far the radio is great. The volume and other buttons on the side are rather small and can be difficult to use while driving. Otherwise, everything works great. It connects to my phone as soon as I get in the car. The sound quality is good, the quality of using Bluetooth for phone calls is good, and I've been pleased with all the various features. Not to mention that the radio itself looks great. I've just not been pleased with Carplay. Overall I like it but I hate having to actually plug my phone in to use it. Text messaging using voice and having to listen to them when you receive them takes getting used to but I guess it's safer than looking at your phone while driving. Sometimes when your music is interrupted by a phone call or text, it seems to have issues going back to the song. It seems like Carplay will be a good thing after it's been out for awhile and they send out some updates and fix issues but overall it's a love/hate relationship with me right now. I tend to use the Bluetooth through the radio more than I connect it to Carplay right now. But overall I am pleased with this purchase.
We don't just take an iPod® or MP3 player and install it in your car; we integrate it seamlessly into the most convenient locations, so you can drive safely and in style

This was my first experience with the Geek Squad techs that do vehicle installs. They were booked up at the Best Buy where I bought the product but they were able to get me in quick at a nearby store. The install was quick and the tech was good to verify the product worked (which it did not the first time and was found to be defective so he got me a new one off the shelf).

I did a lot of research before buying this product and decided at the time that it would be the best option. The first one I bought directly from a Best Buy store and took it to another store because their Geek Squad could get me in faster to install it. The tech told me right off the bat that their guys hate the iSimple so that wasn't a good sign. The first one they put in would not connect to my iphone via Bluetooth but connected to the tech's android phone. He looked into it a little further and found the unit was defective. He said one out of every batch seems to be defective. He picked up another one off the shelf and it connected fine after the install. It played music great and the Bluetooth worked well but when I tried to make a phone call, I could hear the other person through the radio but they couldn't hear me. I tried using Siri but nothing would get through from my end. I ended up returning it and going with a new radio with Bluetooth and Apple Carplay.
