Pricey But Effective

With a walk-out-the-door price of over $200, I thought long and hard before buying the name-sake docking station. I was not impressed, and am still not impressed, with the absence of an HDMI port (yes, I know there is a mini-HDMI on the Surface Pro but it is still not the same as a real life, honest to goodness HDMI port that common sense alone says should be included). But it is certainly nice to unplug one cord (that has a magnetic attachment feature) on the right side of the screen that works flawlessly, before exiting quickly with Surface Pro in hand. And the docking station both looks and feels sturdy and substantial. So I will live with the design flaws and be thankful that it appears capable of outliving most other products of its type.

Be sure to measure

This hose kit is much sturdier than the low end variety you buy at a hardware store or that sometimes comes with the dryer. But take note that the hose takes some extra room due to the configuration of the dryer ends. I needed almost an extra foot of wall clearance compared to the rinky-dink dryer exhaust hose on my previous dryer. Double check your measurements. That said, this is a definite upgrade from most dryer exhaust hoses.

This dryer cord is required for successful hook-up of your new appliance. Our delivery personnel will determine whether a 3- or 4-prong cord is needed based on the outlet behind your existing dryer.

A "No Headache" Item

This is another of those "small" parts that can cause a big headache if it goes out. I worked too many fires when I was a claims adjuster, many long years ago, to want to take a chance on a questionable electric cord, especially considering that electric dryers are one of the leading causes of household fires. This one appears to be well made, no visible seams, plug parts that are well-seated and an overall "substantial" look and feel. That, to me, was worth a few extra dollars.

Great Capacity for the Money

This was an unintended purchase. We went to buy a washer dryer combo and saw this as an open box item. Our old freezer was long in the tooth. This was larger, less money, better features and more energy efficient, so we took it home on the spot. It is a comfortable size being neither a gargantuan machine nor a tiny freezer-wannabe. It holds sale items and daily necessities with room to spare. While it is not lullaby-quiet, the noise factor is not significant. Overall, it has been a good purchase.

Handles the long hours

We have an extended household that includes a toddler and teenagers, as well as multiple adults. This washer goes through five + cycles a day sometimes, plus a variety of clothing, bedding and the like. It is in use virtually every day. Having put this machine through long hours for some weeks now, it has never failed to deliver quality clean laundry on any setting. And we have yet to find a laundry need it cannot handle. This is a true "no regrets" purchase: it is attractive, has plenty of cycles, is intuitive to use, takes minimal detergent, runs quiet and simply does its job without needing to be babied all the time. That gets it five stars without any question.

Helps lower the dry cleaning bill

Most of the comments on this dryer seem to focus on its ease of use, attractive design, large capacity and useful features. And that is all true, in my experience. Perhaps you would also be interested to know that the steam feature not only works well but that it can lower your dry cleaning bill. If you are wearing business casual shirts, for instance, use the steam feature, pull the clothing out just as soon as it is done, hang it up to finish drying (it will still be rather wet) and then count the dollars you are saving. I still dry clean suits or and more fragile clothing items. But after using this feature for a few weeks now, I am no longer making every-week trips to the dry cleaner.

Strong, A "Must Have"

Hoses get scant little attention. This one deserves its moment in the sun. The hose is strong, flexible and, yes, even attractive in its utilitarian way. Hoses that come with any given washer are a roll of the dice. I have no regrets about spending a few extra dollars on an essential part that allows me to forget it is there.
